AFFINITY PHOTO: HOW TO GET CRYSTAL CLEAR SHARP IMAGES WITH FREQUENCY SEPARATION

Another good to the point video I learnt this one in the early days of affinity photo . Live filter >unsharp mask >radius 100 >factor at default (365) threshold 0 (default) >opacity 50%. That is in my "start" macros so it is always there. I very seldom charge it , however it's easy to turn off/on or add/reduce opacity Personally ; I feel too many are too obsessed with "sharpness" when there are more important parts to good photography . But sharpness and the lack of grain (noise) has always been ''a thing'' in photography --- yep with me too 😇🤗

Thanks for the sliders always good to know suggested settings. I actually do the sharpening in Develop Persona but I always thought the effect was lacking. Will try yours! 🙂 Did you learn this settings from anywhere?

Great tip! Of course, I've used frequency separation for smoothing in portrait photos, but I never used it for sharpening like this.

The halos are coming from too high a radius, as per others much better to use the high pass option in Affinity as you can also tick the monochrome option to stop colour effecting

Excellent video - I did an experiment comparing the two methods, yes, freq separation is faster, but the high pass of course is non-destructive, I can come up with similar results - but good concepts for tool box :)

Yes you can. It's used for denoising or removing blemishes in portraits. It was not needed for my edit so I discarded it to avoid confusion.
