I love GB music. The man could play at the most advanced level, but then he could take a basic idea and turn it into a hit. Music is all about producing songs that brings brightness into people's lives. I play well too, but many times I look for something that just sounds great. Sometimes it will be easy, and sometimes it's very hard to do. I've heard songs that were ridiculously hard to play, but yet not catchy at all. Bortok played very complicated music, but I can't listen to it because it sounds horrible.

Je fais une intro rubato, vois combien de temps elle prend environ, puis le refait en mettant un décompte avant le départ "au tempo", et essaie de faire une intro d'une durée similaire grosso modo.

It's not about "learning from Georges Benson", it's about "teaching to others" , in particular introducing guitar-learners to a version both clarified enough for them and entertaining enough in the same time, and Martin is well-known for doing this job very well this. Suppose he woudl play exactly like Benson, what a learner would be able to do with that? Try to get what's going on before to criticize this very serious teacher, thanks.
