Affordable, but is it actually any good? Ford Ecosport review

I have owned a 2013 Fiesta, a 2018 Ecosport and 2 2020 pumas. I have a lot of affection for the Ecosport and loved it when I had it. Puma is better in terms of tech, ride and space, but Ecosport was a great car! You tend to find owners prefer it over reviewers, but the reviewer in this video was fair and balanced!

I have a 2018 since last Oct and love it. I'm single and don't need a lot of space. Love the heated seats for I have back issues.

Ford invented the small suv segment in Brazil with the 1st generation of the Ecosport based on the old Fiesta from 2003, 2005… the interesting thing is that the VW designers in Brazil had a very similar idea to create a compact suv for third world markets and the Germans ( VW ) thought no one would buy such cars. They were absolutely wrong, Ford took the leadership and created a new segment, for many years with the unbeatable Ecosport from 1st, 2nd and 3rd generations .

I've got the 1.5 deisel AWD ST, I think the interior is realy well appointed, leather and alcantara, contols feel premium, the styling is unique like a tonka toy. I think its realy a fun way to get arround.

I've heard the ecoboost engines are naff, and used models have a tendency to let go after around 60k miles or so. I am considering a used one of these in the future, from a practical sense, ( I need a low boot lip and higher driving position ), but IF I decide on an EcoSport, it definitely won't be one with an ecoboost engine.

The ford 1 liter engine have won loads of awards for best engine for the last 10 years look it up and best hadaling car on the moose test

@@AnthonyEvans-dg5sb The wet belt technology used in the ecoboost engines means the timing belts degrade a lot quicker than a traditional timing belt or chain. No amount of awards can escape that fact.

@@solidamber No, 2023 was the final model year for Europe. Reason is that the plant in Romania was still manufacturing EcoSports for 1 year after Indian had stopped.

You better get the 2.0 engine. Unfortunately, I have a 2019 Ecosport with 1.0 engine and I've been without a car for 2 months. It's been at the dealership waiting for parts for an engine for a temporary repair and good engine replacement won't be available until 2025. Never again Ford.

We have an Ecosport it’s ok room for kids in the back boot is big enough for most stuff but the door on it is pain.Fuel economy is average only

@ Anthony … Get rid of it asap. Eco boost engine is a disaster waiting to happen. We have 2 fords sitting on drives engine failures . Cost to repair over £4000 each Just sell it ASAP and go for TOYOTA YARIS CROSS. It will go a long way practically no maintenance costs 😊🎉

@michaelheadley2041 ours needed a whole new engine, standard story, Oil pickup blocked solid with rubber residue from the wet belt and starved the top end of oil. Made a biblical noise when it let go!! But Ford didn't want to know. Cost us a fortune. Utter rubbish that engine.

AVoid like the plaque cam belt is completely shit had to replace it after 55.000 The dumbo ford people in weymouth serviced it 5 weeks prior to failure obviously they didn't check it.... We feel scammed

Which engine you talking about I take it the 1.0?, always steer clear of that engine it's always had problems since came out in 2012 on mk3 focus!!!, the 1.5tdci is the bullet proof engine!!

As usual Ford have recalled them in the US but not in the UK. A new engine costs thousands. You can complain to Ford who will look at it on a case by case basis but I wouldn't hold your breath.

I have the US version with the 2.0 Duratec and 4WD. It's reliable. Stay away from the ecoboom.

I had a 2019 SE with the 2 liter engine. I loved it. 2 weeks ago I hit a deer head on at 55mph//34kmh! Everything worked as it was supposed to! I walked away with just a few bruises from the steering wheel/airbag! Totaled the car but I walked away! And big enough to haul my saint bernard! It only had 68k miles on it😢 Guess what?! Tomorrow I buy one JIST LIKE IT! Even the same color! With only 52k miles! I can't wait!

Lots of flaws in this review!, diesel are rare well there's loads about! Controls are modern taken from mk4 focus!, lots of spec leather version with heated steering and blind spot with lux pack!!, and reversing camera comes standard which you don't get on other ford's!!! And puma don't diesel!, the best engine is the bullet proof!!! 1.5tdci,
