Selling a property in South-East England will always provide the capital to buy a considerable estate in the French countryside, whether in the regions mentioned or elsewhere. Auvergne isn't pricy either and neither is much of the north-east.

@guyvekeman1094 agreed. in Southeast England, a sizable country property will set you back £500k +. Imagine what you could get for £500k in France.
