You can absolutely substitute food colouring with dye based ink refills. I forgot to mention in this video that. In my last one i had mentioned you can use them, but i chose not to as they're so much more expensive and i like to keep them for inking up my ink pads. But as long as they are dye based re inkers they will totally work!

lovely cards and technique!! 😍 I have been doing something similar, but, it's more subtle. I have put some rubbing alcohol into a spray bottle, with some mica powder, take any coloured cardstock and spray that onto the cardstock. then seal it with a spray sealer so the mica stays put. it's very pretty as well 😁
@SashaReade3 ай бұрын

Amazing results. Do you think using a brayer might give smoother results? Thank you for the inspiration!
@SashaReade3 ай бұрын
I debated it but i felt like i would have probably lost a lot of product to the brayer and my surface that id need to roll it on, and the clean up would have been a lot more and switching between colours would have been more time consuming than just a sponge. So my lazy mindset didnt try it :)

I wouldnt just because it would likely react funny to the glue. You tend to want to stick to water based products if mixing with water based. I havent given it a go, but i dont think it would react well or mix well with the glue. If you give it a go let me know :)

@@SashaReade i do my best living in the US to get exactly what brand you get so i know what im getting. I found the Aleenes tacky glue and 8oz was cheap! Only $2.and change but they had a 16 oz in a tub that was $16! Go figure. But the mica powder i couldnt find the same brand but it will be fine. I am still longing for koala photo paper to do your tricks on! That was the best new secret in 2023! I think you are solely responsible for their success! Did you like glossy or matte better when you made a card with those backgrounds? And did you ever try to see if stencil and paste would stay on the glossy for a mixed media look? I just adore you. Thank you for sharing your excitement with us in these great finds, and all the work that goes into it! Its greatly appreciated! Denise XX
