I bought the same used model day before yesterday from a guy for $350. He had only used it two times. Hell, it was hard to even tell he had used it twice. Said he liked it, but immediately decided he wanted a peddle kayak and he had just received the new peddle Yak the day before. I took it out yesterday for about 6 hours and really liked it. Very stable and the seat is very comfortable to me. I'm even sixty years old (in really great health and a slender 5'8", 150-ish pounds) and I had no problem standing up in it. I do believe if I were going to stand in it much while fishing I would probably build a couple of cheap stabilizers from PVC and foam. I'm pleased with it. Only downside to my maiden voyage, only caught four tiny bass and almost certain I lost my personal best bass yesterday as well. Oh well, that's fishing.

Yep if it can hold me it must be stable that's for sure! That's a heck of deal for that kayak! This day and age next month the kayak could be $1000 in store if bought new! I recommend it as well, buying some seat risers to make getting to my feet a little easy they make them in 2-4 inches also going to run a dog leash as an anchor haha. Ohh well-tight lines.

@@whiskerwhisper Yeah, I knew I was getting a hell of a bargain. Even told the guy I would be there in an hour and promise not to sell it out from under me. Yeah, I need to figure out some sort of anchor system for it. I was fishing under light winds yesterday with a chartreuse plastic lizard I was working very slowly around the base of Cypress trees. I could barely get in one cast, maybe two before I was blown too far away. I like to cast the hell out of a good spot before moving on. I've often cast in the same spot half a dozen times without a nibble before pulling a beast out. Good luck to you.

@@cryptofan6255 I have one and right now I just use a carabiner hooked to the side handle and hook my anchor there. It works pretty good but I saw a video where someone placed some eyelets, one at the front and one at the rear of the kayak then looped some paracord through each eyelet with a steel ring tied on to hook the anchor to. With the eyelets at each end you can adjust the anchor to the front, back or in between depending on wind, currents and which way youre trying to fish. I hope this makes sense. If i can find the video, ill link it to you.

@@christophergreen515 I kind of have an idea of that myself, but if you stumble on to a video with a good method, I would appreciate you sharing it. I'm leaving for Panama City, Fl in the next few days, I need to come up with some sort of half-ass solution at the very least. I'll be fishing the surf some, but they also have a bridge in water about 30 to 40 feet deep. Want to bottom fish the columns and don't want to worry about drifting away.

@@cryptofan6255 Heres a video of a system thats actually sold. Skip to 17 mins to get to the anchor system. But with some eyelets, you can essentially do the same thing. kzbin.info/www/bejne/lXqZXqOJntV_gac

I installed my fish finder transducer up inside the upper right scuffer hole, it works great and always out of the way with clear silicone.

It looks to be a peace missing off the bottom of that transducer arm that would rotate it 90° to be in line with your direction of travel. You may have it and just didn't use it I don't know thought I'd point that out. It's a small piece and may have been lost before you even get the thing.

I have this same model kayak, When you shop for a kayak you have to figure the “working weight capacity”, for what kinda kayak will do the job you need to do. To do that you take .7 x the manufacturers weight capacity to get the working weight. If you are 230 lbs and you have 60 lbs of gear on your kayak like you say, that means your kayak is 45 lbs overnight! With the Teton Pro the math works out to 245 lbs working capacity. I’m not trying to be mean or anything, I’m just giving you the facts of the matter. Being over the working weight capacity puts your kayak at risk of being unstable and makes your kayak harder to control

Makes sense, "it was a rough estimate" That being said I was a little over packed looking back. But I'm still here alive and well. can't be old and wise if you were never young and dumb 🤣. So decided to get me the old town 106 powered by minn kota 37' wide and heck of a lot more weight capacity. Or as you said "working weight capacity". Hope it's a game changer nice comment by the way! Tight lines

DO NOT BELIEVE ANY MFG MAX WEIGHT CAPACITY. THAT'S USUALLY THE SINKING WEIGHT. At 230 plus gear, you're just about maxed out.

Get a wide sit on top like the one reviewed here and unless you do something crazy you aren't going to roll it. My youngest son fishes the hell out of his kayaks, said he has never rolled any of his. He is 6'3" and 240 lbs. I just got mine (same as the one reviewed in this video) a couple of weeks ago. I'm 60 years old and have no problem standing up in it.

@@dougroberts3643 I'm not sure, he bought both of his used. They are cheaper brand kayaks. Sort of like the ones you see at Walmart or Tractor Supply. I would HIGHLY recommend a sit-on-top Kayak like in the video. So damn comfortable.

@UCVXBrUixN3jUPkFXz1cuR9A I know I wasn't much help. But, my kid's Kayak just isn't comfortable to me. You are sitting on a piece of hard plastic with a flimsy backrest. My back is killing me after an hour or so. I took mine out for 6 hours last week and I was comfortable the entire time. I adjust the seat where it sits more upright while casting a lot. Towards the end of the day when I was about to row back I simply leaned the seat back a little and paddled comfortably back to shore. Ha, almost like sitting in a lounge chair and paddling. ;)

I avoided kayaks for the same reason. All I'd seen were the sit in kind that are made for long trips or speed- long and really skinny. Get a fishing kayak. They're built for stability. You won't flip. I love mine!
