Affordable Fractal Design Focus G Timelapse System Build

I still use my DVD drive and Focus G is one of the few cases that still support them. Came here to check out the spacing with adding an AIO. Nice to see this build and how Fractal had this in mind. Also, the fans that this case come with did not last long for me. I also removed the front foam mesh as it wasn't helping.

Why remove the plastic before the build....just why???? Best bit is listening to that sound after a successful build Also, I wouldn't get a liquid cooler for this case to be honest...not enough space for it I went for 2 140mm in front 120mm in the back and a high end air cooler- it does the job nicely and I can clock my i5 processor up to 4.90 Ghz without overheading

Watch some of our others. We do it after :) It has the space but depending on your system, I’d probably go with a 120mm aio for a cleaner look or a nice bulky air cooler.

I have that case saved on my amazon as a maybe for my build. But filters may be a problem. A mesh front is hard to come by these days thou

it has filthers- all removable apart from front, but an high pressure can will sort that every month

I am building a PC with that case in about 2 weeks-2 months I was so happy to find that case as it seems like a great airflow good looking budget case.

I've got the Fractal Design Define R6 and it's air cooled- 3 exhaust (140, 1 on back 2 on top) 4 intake (120, 3 in front, 140 on the bottom) and two 140 fans in a push/pull on a Noctua U14S. It cools the 8086K pretty sufficiently, just as well as an AIO. The only way to get better cooling is to ditch the fans entirely and get static pressure fans for a full custom loop, an expensive endeavor indeed.

You have to connect them to the mobo and control them through the BIOS

I am buying a PC like that soon but with an AMD Ryzen 2600 and an RX 580 ROG Strix. I can't afford a cooler though so I'll be using stock. And it only has a 240GB SATA SSD. XD But mine has 16GB of ram AND HIS ONLY HAS 8GB WHICH IS VERY BAD FOR GAMING AND WILL BOTTLENECK THE OTHER COMPONENTS! XD Overall my PC I am building is much better price to performance.

For pure gaming it'll do but one thing I could suggest is replacing the AiO with a fairly cheap and cheerful aircooler like a Ben Nevis Advanced Black RGB with the freed up cash going towards air filters. The non-K i5 doesn't need a overkill cooler like the S24.

We worked with fractal on this one so went down the aio route but yes you could save some money but wouldn’t look no where near as good tbh.

The author prompt, the copper sole of the water-cooling system covers the whole processor or the corners of the processor get on the bolts? It seems that the copper washer does not fully fit the processor.

Nice build. I preffer chipset b360 instead of z370 for a i5 8400, and use an air heatsink cause 8400 dont need watercooling. I Like this case.

I have the same case, with a Gigabyte Motherboard, where do you connect the fans with LED's that come pre-installed on the case?

The LEDs are one color. You can't change the color. Plug them into any fan header on your motherboard

I just built one with this case and the cables are laid out so nice and this case makes it easy to hide as well.

Noob question, can pc cases be flipped on their side to be horizontal/on its side(steel part not window)? My desk only allows me to put my case on the left which means I won’t be able to see the window and parts inside
