Amazon discount code: "05ForTravis" Good from10/21 to 10/31 Update: FindBuyTool tells me the wider hex nut that comes on the cutter head is just to protect the threads in shipping. You should use the one that came with your planer, like I did in this video. I installed one of the 2 row find buy tool heads in my planer a few days ago. Works beautifully and install and first run went perfectly. I was confused about the 18mm deep well socket until I realized it was to use on the bearing to hammer it in. I used the original nut to reinstall mine also. This is a great head for the money if anyone is on the fence. Mine arrived from china within 4 days which I thought was quite impressive also.

@findbuytool, Any promotional codes? The Sawblade code is specific to purchasing blades.

@mystic9696 I'm sure we all would like to know. Thanks for asking this.

Make sure to look up a promotion code. You can get an extra $20 off. I got mine a month ago for $280 and it arrive 4 days after I ordered it. 4 rows of cutter heads. Really wasn't too bad to install. The cut is great but the biggest difference is sound. It sounds the same when you turn it on as it does when running boards through. You can't hear the blades hitting the wood. This cutterhead also isn't some budget version of a shellix. Its really well machined and very much as premium as anything else. With 4 rows of 13 cutters, you won't have to replace them as often and it cleans up any lines that could be created from less rows. Really a quality buy. Edit: 4 rows of cutters, not 5

Fantastic info. Thanks so much for sharing that. I could be wrong, but I think it only has rows. Either way. With the helical shape there is always a blade cutting the wood.

Probably. I can't imagine the warranty is over a year though.

How did it do on the #2 speed setting?
@HowIDoThingsDIYАй бұрын
I made a few passes on #2 and it seemed good. Are you asking about noise or quality of cut. I haven't used it a ton yet but I'm looking forward to using it more soon.
@tonyjonas1Ай бұрын
Quality of cut. I know number 2 is for more of a finished pass. Interested if it was any need in using the 2nd setting with this cutter head.
@HowIDoThingsDIYАй бұрын
I always use the fast feed to get near the desired thickness and then set it to 2 to get a high quality finish. I would still recommend doing that with the helical cutter head. Slower will always give you best finish regardless of the blades.
