I just found your channel and I love it. I have been retired for several year and I'm thinking of buying a place in Spain or Mexico. Mexico is getting to expensive and it's not as safe as Spain , so I'm thinking of Spain. I like the ones near the beach. Let me know if you receive a commission.

Thank you so much for your kind words and for discovering my channel! I completely understand why Spain is catching your attention-it offers so much variety. Spain has incredible coastlines both in the south and the north, each with its own unique charm. In the south, areas like Málaga, the Costa del Sol, and Andalucía are hugely popular for retirees. They boast warm weather year-round, beautiful beaches, and a vibrant expat community. Property prices can vary, but there are still great deals to be found, especially if you're open to smaller towns just outside the main tourist hubs. The northern coast-Asturias, the Basque Country, and Cantabria-is stunning as well. It’s less crowded, has a cooler climate, and offers lush green landscapes. Properties here often give you more for your money, especially in rural or seaside villages, and the vibe is more tranquil compared to the south. By the way, I don’t receive commissions. I do this because I spent a lot of time searching for the perfect place to live myself, and now that I’ve found it, I truly enjoy helping others in their journey to find their dream spot too.

Is it true that you can be fined for using too much electricity and running the Air Conditioning 24/7….and at a low temperature?
@ExpatHomeOpportunities14 күн бұрын
Hi! In Spain, there are currently guidelines and recommendations for energy use, but no fines specifically for using air conditioning continuously or at low temperatures in residential properties. However, there’s an emphasis on energy efficiency and conservation due to environmental policies, especially during high-demand seasons. In some commercial settings, there are restrictions on temperature limits (like maintaining A/C at 27°C in summer). But for homes, it’s more about promoting responsible usage rather than penalties.

@ no wonder I was sweating while grocery shopping with my wife’s family in Barcelona last year, in August. And, we stayed with one of my wife’s nephews, and he wouldn’t put his AC thermostat lower than 25c (77f) at night, so I had trouble sleeping…was uncomfortably hot for me. At home here in the US (in the state of Virginia-near Washington DC) during the summer (other times when it’s hot/warm outside), I set the thermostat to 20.5c (69f) at night to sleep and keep it at 23-24c (74-75f) during daytime. In the winter it’s set to between 21-23.3c (70-74f)
