Well done and demonstrated. I used it on a show alongside the Xvive U2 guitar wireless both into the back of a EV Evolve array speaker pa. Even though I made sure that both units were on separate channels there was still interference and I had to terminate the U4. Maybe it was my iPhone which was running the EV app for wireless balance/eq for the Evolve. Probaly the 2.4 frequency is too crowded.
@boremachine4 жыл бұрын
U4-eeahh! I use the U2 wireless system for guitar and bass for quite some time and am still very impressed. Dropped the sender once and it had some sort of internal failure afterwards which caused dropouts. Got a pair of new ones by warranty after some weeks of waiting...
@xtheory Жыл бұрын
Deal breaker for me is the 2.4Ghz transmitter. There’s way too much interference these days in that frequency band. It might work fine for home play and rehearsal, but you’re going to have a helluva bad day if you’re playing in a place with more than 50 people in the audience with smartphones.

Re: competing for Wi-Fi channels: We typically have 5 to 7 people on stage. Personal mixes via the Presonus IOS app, charts on iPads via OnSong, another iPad for projection, and 1 or 2 wireless instrument packs- up to 17 wi-fi channels just for the band. No problems during soundcheck, but we do get occasional dropouts once the audience arrives. Not bad for mix control and charts, but don't want that for my IEM audio!

Hey bro, quick tip how to measure latency of a part in your system: 1. Get you system to a consistent audio latency 2. Measure the latency A of your system without the IEM stuff 3. Measure the latency B of your system with the IEM sender+receiver in between 4. B - A will be the IEM system's latency

Received the unit today, tested it and unfortunately it interferes with my wireless guitar system (GLXD6 shure) I cycled through all the channels. There were also many other wireless devices around. I don’t think I can gig with this considering there are cell phones and WiFi everywhere now. When there is no interference it’s great! But 2.4GHz is just over crowded now.
@TheGuitarGeek4 жыл бұрын
That’s interesting. I totally agree this frequency is overcrowded. All I can say is that I tested it with as much gear as I had and it worked fine.
@bar_mando4 жыл бұрын
@@TheGuitarGeek did some more tinkering. So the biggest culprit of the interference wasnt the Shure and U4 it was actually my router. I got a new mesh system router, and where I tested it was within 5ft of both devices. Once it turned the router off, things got a little better. In fact, the U4 performed better than the shure (just went hard wired in to test). Finally got the shure and U4 to cooperate by changing the group channel on the Shure. Downside is that there is a longer latency (7.3ms vs. 4ms) in the previous. I will test next saturday at the next gig. Thanks for you video though. Cheers

So, did you play the music on your phone or something and connected to U4 and re-recording? If is that so, did you mean you intentionally made the music pitch slow in particular second that you walk exact 2 steps, then put that on to phone, recording, and fast forward from exact point that you made slow? Or just you saying "It's work" and never shown actual proof?

One thing I have to say. Mono systems are not something yoy want to use. Very limited capabilities. Wifi wireless for IEMs is not realiable either... that said. It is expensive versus those limitations. Also batteries are not interchangeable, if it fails it fails.
