Rising water temperatures pose a considerable threat to Scotland’s migratory fish species, including the iconic Atlantic salmon.
The Affric Highlands team have recently been helping Beauly Fishery Board conduct some of their smolt surveys along a stretch of the River Beauly, using a rotary screw trap provided by SSE Renewables. The data will help improve understanding of the river’s salmon population and how it may be better protected in the future.
