Affric Highlands: Surveying salmon on the River Beauly

Rising water temperatures pose a considerable threat to Scotland’s migratory fish species, including the iconic Atlantic salmon.
The Affric Highlands team have recently been helping Beauly Fishery Board conduct some of their smolt surveys along a stretch of the River Beauly, using a rotary screw trap provided by SSE Renewables. The data will help improve understanding of the river’s salmon population and how it may be better protected in the future.

The hydro and forestry fucked the rivers in highlands. You need to get better fish passes on the dams
