You hardly need another comment telling you to get the line on the reel, so I won’t! But otherwise, well fished! You hooked it, played it, and landed it on the tackle you had, and you learned a lot in the process, shared your experience and sheer enjoyment, and responded to the usual keyboard slobs with dignity, humour and humility: all power to your rod elbow!

@@SiGmund63 Hi mate, I honestly really appreciate this comment! It’s a relief to know that there’s still positivity online 😁 As you said alot of negative feedback, which I’m still grateful for as I love to hear everyone’s opinion, as it can be very useful for me to improve as a angler! Clearly I’m not an expert nor have I claimed to be, I just enjoy the art of fishing, and trying to be as careful with fish handling as much as I can! Unfortunately as you know, a lot of people will take the negatives rather than giving the positives sometimes, but I suppose some are inclined with this mentality, Sorry for the long paragraph but it’s great to reply to another on the same wave length 🤘🏻🎣

The reason you were struggling to net it was each time you lifted it towards the net you walked forward towards it splashing as you went, thereby spooking the fish. Try standing still, crouch down to reduce your silhouette and slide the fish over a stationary net. Works every time. Also a folding net with a longer handle helps.

Nice fish. Congrats. Allow me to give you a bit of advise (coming from somone who have been ff'ing for seatrout along the Danish shorelines for +30 years). Learn how to double haul. It will not only extend your reach but also help you when the wind is tricky. When you hook a fish, get the loose line on the reel asap. It's risky business playing a big seatrout the way you do it in the video. Don't ever chase a hooked seatrout, bring it in! Also, you might consider using a line basket; it will keep your loose line more organized and help you shoot line more effortlesly when casting. The latter is mostly about temperament. I don't use one, but that's because I'm an old fart and old farts tend - for better or worse - to have habits ;-)

@@xpresscolourart5531 Yeah man, seen some crackers online getting caught, and yeah sea trout are good fun, especially on the fly, as for the area, the whole place fishes really well for them, unfortunately we are nearing the end of the season which is a shame, gonna have to think what to target during the winter now 😂

@@theanglingfront Me 🤣either-only place I've been fishing is Drumpellier Loch-Bishop Loch-Hogganfield Loch-Brodick Bay-it was waste a waste of time hiring the boat that day-never caught anything-even though reved the engine up to go right out the bay-that was the only fun part of it

You should go and take a course on hook and release, the trick is to land it as quick as you can and release it. you should keep your line on your reel and let yuour drag do it's job.
