This is arguably their greatest song. The intro, build up, lyrically momentum and the whole journey this track manages to take the listener on makes it a masterpiece in my eyes. This live version is a gem too. What a way to cascade into the "Black Love" album it is. Long live the whigs

This whole album is perfect from start to finish. The train motif started with Crime Scene Part 1 is book ended in Faded. Hands down my favorite album of the 90's, and my favorite album of theirs just because of how good all the parts fit together.

I saw the Afghan Whigs back ian '96 and it completely changed my life. This was the opening song, and every I get to here it live it takes me back. It hits me in so many ways. The pain and suffering of being a jilted lover, and now an as adult who works as an ER Nurse it helps me understand people who are ready to give it all up. Nothing has ever made my should ache and given me such catharsis as the first track on Black Love, and while it's not for everyone, it's likely my most favorite song of all time.

Kelly JBT1975genxr This band is a rare gem. Today it sounds & feels as fresh & new as it did 20 yrs. ago. Music for me is not just a passion, but music marks my existence like a timeline,guarding & obtaining my stability through adversarial crises. Accelerating & intensifying my joys & pristine moments of my existence....:-):-):-):-)

This song caught me in a formative time in my younger years and is forever connected with the time I spent running away from my problems and myself. That line in particular hit me deep at the time and still does.

According to the crowd's reaction, Haldern didn't love The Afghan Whigs that much...

Sad that most of the crowd blatantly doesn't know the Whigs in being there, and their back catalogue. We have pearls cast before swine here, as it were. Just pleased a pro camera crew caught them 👌

Would you make a playlist of this concert in the order played please, if you have it? I notice there's another full concert of this but it is much lower quality.

It's what happens if you put a great, but largely unknown and not heard band, before an audience that doesn't know them. They don't know what they're missing. Literally.

Crowds have sucked at most shows for decades. The 90’s were the last decade for great crowds. We were great fans in the 90’s. Unfortunately, we were so spoiled that no fans made any great music after that either.

No Bruce Thomas = no Attractions and no Rick McCollum = no Afghan Whigs
@bibsma3401Ай бұрын
Yea Rick really puts the Whigs over the 100% mark. 90% Whigs is still good, but it ain’t really the Whigs is it? It’s The Twilight Singers with the Whigs bass player playing Whigs songs. I think they got back together, and when Rick left it seemed silly to change the name back to The Twilight Singers, and they wanted to play the old songs, so they just went ahead and pretended it’s something that isn’t quite.
