William UNDERWOOD Lenin started the Gulag system in Russia, which was significantly worse than the prison system in place under the Tsar. He was as bad as Stalin, but just didn’t live long enough to match his body count. Stalin was one of Lenin’s key men. Lenin judged Stalin’s character to be compatible with his own, which is why he chose to have Stalin on his team.

moonbeam Vietnam was first and foremostly a civil war between North Vietnam and South Vietnam that had been simmering since the withdrawal of the French. It’s not really possible to call the Vietnam War genocidal, since the US fought in aid of South Vietnam beside South Vietnamese forces against the North Vietnamese Army the Viet Cong.

I understand people say we didn’t need to be in it but these people were getting butchered in the streets and lost their human rights under the control of terrorists. What do we do as a country, stand back and allow these horrendous tragedies to continue and thousands of people brutally killed in the streets because it doesn’t effect Australia? As a fellow human being that should be enough to defend the people which cannot defend themselves.

And years later, Taliban is still there, and now the U.S. is actually negotiating and working with them as they did when they gave rise to them during the cold war to fight the USSR. Politicians send our young men to fight and die, while they sit in their protected rich homes playing the political games. I say every politician who sends troops to war, should be in the front lines fighting with them, that should be law!

"You would think that war would be the opposite of that. That it would be horrible, that it would destroy your faith in humanity and that it would tear apart your soul. That's not the case." Really now? Why do veterans suffer from PTSD then if war isn't horrible and it wouldn't tear your soul apart? How brainwashed can you be by the war machine to actually say these things?! It might be an enlightening experience, but war is always horrendous and the disgusting result of people in power who play with human lives like pawns.

That was the one problem i found. Constantly having to keep eyes in the back of my head. Afghan, is full of tribal wars, family feuds and differences of oppinions withinbfamily units from the north! The ANP, a bunch of boy loving fraudsters from the south, near pakistan, who you knew you couldnt trust. Then you had ANA from the north, who hated the ANP and in the main were loyal, but still didnt like us being there and telling them how to fight. They wanted our weapons and vehicles but not our expertise. We lost a terp on my tour on herrick 8. At least when we were in Iraq you only gad to worry about the friggin mardis and the IED's. Not so called "local allies". Big love to mu aussies and kiwi brothers who were out there with us. And cheers to corporal mctavish from the canadian 1st armoured division who swapped two weeks worth of his canadian MRE's food bags with that hot sauce they got fir a few of my old dvd's. A cheap piece of propaganda. Episode two shows this well. I refer to the killing of five children and a woman by Australian soldiers. The only bit of truth was that the soldiers got off manslaughter charges on the grounds Australian soldiers owe no duty of care to civilians. In other words they could have been in the wrong and unnecessarily killed these people and could not get in trouble. Also, the documentary lied when they said the Australia soldiers came under fire in this tragedy; it was the Australians that opened fire.

How do you know the Australians opened fire ??? ...how could they get this so wrong ??
@calabash50263 жыл бұрын
@@elizabethbadior9966 The ABC interviewed three of the soldiers involved in the incident (Australian Story, I think). Soldier W was the soldier who opened fire. He had his night vision goggles on and was looking through a window. He said he saw a number of people and the room and an adult male was kneeling on the floor and aiming a rifle at the door. Soldier W said he shot the man with the rifle but the man was not killed and returned fire back through the window. After this, Soldier D was called up to throw a grenade into the room. This did not kill the person inside and he kept firing so soldier D was ordered to throw another grenade in. This killed the person with the rifle. When the smoke cleared it turned out there was one male in the room and the rest were women and children, dead and maimed. According to the survivors from this family, when they heard intruders in their compound they retreated to this room and the male was guarding the door. The Australian soldiers said they did not know women and children were in the room. I do not believe them because soldier W said he saw a number of people in the room and, since there was only one adult male in the room, those other people he saw were the women and children. Also, as you can imagine, if the women and children in the room were not screaming when the shooting started, they were screaming in agony after the first grenade went in. When asked why they threw the second grenade in if women and children were in the room, they said they thought the screaming was coming from the family they had rounded up on the other side of the compound. They were a just a couple of metres from the room they grenaded and they claim they thought the screaming was coming from the opposite side of the compound. I do not believe them, do you?

@@calabash5026 ...mate you asked a question at the end ...DO I BELIEVE THEM ...I have NO IDEA ...the trouble is they go through so much over there ...so hard to work out what is TRUTH and what is FICTION... it’s hard to believe or disbelieve.... Trouble is it’s war and one min an Afghanistan person is wearing a ANA uniform next day he is with the Taliban .... why because he is trying to look after his family ....the Taliban have done some horrendous things that is why they are thousands trying to get away now as we speak...and IF any person is put under that pressure day after day after day they do things that they would not normally do ...some of our solders were in Afghanistan for more than 6 months and out on patrol every day not knowing IF they were going to get on that plane again to come home ...PRESSURE plays funny things on minds ...😔😔😔

@@elizabethbadior9966 It still does not excuse soldiers killing civilians in cold blood just to give Australian soldiers practice at killing people and then planting guns or radios on them to pretend they were justified killings. Many of us have seen the video of an Australian soldier shooting a farmer dead even though the farmer was on his back and holding his hands up. What I do is ask people to reverse the situation - what if it was an australian civilian lying on the ground and some invading soldier just shot him dead?
