Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani Denies Fleeing With Large Sum of Money, Says He Will Return

Former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, who is in exile in the United Arab Emirates, said he is currently in talks to return home. Ghani posted a video message on his Facebook profile talking about the current situation and his whereabouts. The foreign ministry of UAE also confirmed that it is hosting Ghani and his family on “humanitarian grounds”. Ghani has been criticised by several Afghan politicians and world leaders for leaving the country suddenly as the Taliban captured Kabul.

Listen Horn-ney gal, Afghan army already lost and surrendered to Taliban, that's why they surrounded Kabul. At that point, Taliban already won and conquered Afghanistan. There was no point of him staying in Kabul anymore. He made the right choice to flee and save himself. Had he been still in Kabul, he would have been killed like the last President by Taliban. The situation of Afghan people would have been the same regardless of the President leaving the country.
