Front row video I took of AFI performing their ‘Sing The Sorrow’ in its entirety at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California. I own no rights to these songs. All rights to these songs belong to AFI.

Incredible comment lol There’s a few albums out there that are front to back masterpieces, not only of their time, but their respective genres as well. I would consider this to be AFI’s masterpiece… thought not MY personal favourite of theirs. This rushed in a new era for AFI. But albums like Black Sails, Art of Drowning, and dare I say Answer That are all better IMHO.

I remember exactly where I was the first time I heard "Girl's not Grey" I had kind of heard AFI a bit before, but it was the hardcore early stuff, which I ironically really enjoy now, but at the time I did not like at all. I immediately started listening to their entire catalogue after hearing that song. I don't think Sing the Sorrow came out of the CD player in my truck for a solid month.

I remember all the punk kids being extremely pissed off at AFI and calling them posers sell outs burnouts and calling Danny some selective terms we aren't supposed to say in the world anymore lol when this came out. All because they changed genres I remember thinking those kids were so dumb The funny thing is most of those kids grew up an as adults now are actually the ones who sold out haha and now listen to mainstream trap "music" or whatever you consider that shit they just follow whats huge at the time and go see rap concerts where the "rappers" cant even perform they just do karaoke actually not even karaoke karaoke singers don't have the vocals playing in the background just the instrumental 😂😂😂😂 can't wait for rock and metal to take over again. I can only withstand so many fake ass lyrics, attitude, etc. Kids don't understand that emo music wasn't about exploiting drug use and suicide more about discussing the topics That's where emo "rappers" fucked up They exploit everything from mental illness to addiction and make it seem cool its INSANE lol And then their fan base cries when they overdose or get shot lol makes sense

@@themessenger8334Lol that crowd is so tame. I saw Slayer at The Forum at their final two shows, and that floor had one of the most violent circle pits I’ve ever been in. Slayer’s a much older band too, so of course their fans were at least in their 40’s rippin’ it up in the pit. Must’ve been a KROQ radio crowd at that AFI show. 😂

Things happen for a reason and I’m glad I got to experience STS live. Thanks for the upload. 5 months later and still gives me chills. This album is part of the soundtrack of my life during middle school and high school. I’m so glad we didn’t drink and we’re able to enjoy the show. I sang every word with my little sister and I cried a bit at the end. I went home to the memories those days held, remembering all of the good and bad. What a imprint this timeless album holds in my soul. My only regret was not buying closer seats. I’ll remember this concert forever🖤

So sorry to contribute to this convo 8 months late, though I’ve just come across this video. I’ve begun listening to AFI back in 2003 when Sing the Sorrow hit - still 13 at that time - and I’ve been listening to them ever since, from all their earlier material to their later releases, as well as Som of Sam, Blaqk Audio, XTRMST, and Dreamcar. They’ve led me to older bands like the Misfits/Samhain/Danzig, The Cure, and Depeche Mode. There’s this guy named Todd Barriage, who does an amazing cover of Sing the Sorrow in its entirety. I just LOVE AFI! And I always will… ❤️‍🔥🖤

During a show in 2006 Davey says “you guys remember 1997 at all? Well nick 13 from tiger army absolutely does” and bring him in stage and plays “A single second” off of Shut your mouth and open your eyes. Im not sure how many times, if any, they have played something that old let alone with nick. I think the rush I would feel expecting December Underground and having that happen would be hard to beat haha.

Just want to say thank you, this is an awesome recording. I was there right in front and it's nice to see the show from a different perspective. Gotta love all these commenters complaining about stuff tho haha. They could have played every single album and people would still complain.

Yes thanks for the upload I feel like I just got a hard slap 👋🏻to the face because upon finding this at like 5am the realization that I was a brand new mum to my son when this album came out and I needed this album and the music to help me in inexplicably ways to cope with being a parent so in the walkman went the cd in the stroller went the Bebe and then I walked and listened and became an unapologetic fan , Single Mom, individual who is now 41 still sees and recognizes and values what this music gave me. A lifeline.

In spite of all the things that have happened in the past few years, this video reminds me why I fell in love with AFI as a 13 year old kid. That “Through our bleeding, we are one” at the end gave me chills.
