@@avinash4evr I think the 30s are us maturing and coming to the realization of responsibilities of life. I think we're more established, completely independent and are facing more realities than in our 20s. Less protected from the world. It's a tough pill to swallow. I moved out when I was 20 but the 30s were still a tougher decade for me.

I just lost my daughter Tuesday after a long battle with depression at the age of 24. This was one of our favorite songs. I would tell her that I would want this played at my funeral, I didn’t care if I passed at 100, just add it to the list. I never imagined it being the other way around. 😔💜

This entire album pulled me through being homeless and losing the only family I had ever known. The lyrics to this album are so heartfelt and Davey's voice is so filled with emotions it brought me to some much needed tears. Had to rebuy Sing for the Sorrow like 4 times, played until unplayable. Wow i just love this song.....

I think many of us went through shit in high school, but everything you mentioned; I've been there. I went there again myself last year. It wasn't just afi but all of my music that got me through it. I think at one point I kept going because I wanted to hear the next Tool album haha. But you know what? Things are better now. There will be shit times again, but you gotta remember to live for the good times. In the meantime, use your music to get through the bad, but don't live for them. Learn to enjoy that music when you're happy too.

J Ritty I gave up on them, sadly. Everything they have ever done including their Eps to sing the sorrow was pure magic for me. I remember waiting and waiting for a new album to come out and I was beyond heart broken. Even my husband had high hopes that their latest album was going to be more original sounding, nope 👎 oh well at least we still have the memories of what they once were. Still one of my favorite bands and it’s comforting to know they their music will still be there whenever I need them.
@zonesquestiloveunderworld
@zonesquestiloveunderworld 14 күн бұрын
"Sing the Sorrow" was phenomenal at the time.... but almost two decades later it's even better, and even more emotionally powerful. AFI's magnum opus, IMHO, and this song is such a perfect conclusion, musically and lyrically. Jade's guitar is particularly riveting, I love that crunchy-yet-smooth tone he seems to favour. Probably my number 1 AFI song, tied with "The Great Disappointment", "Reivers Music" and "Bleed Black".

Davey speaks my heart & soul so very well in this song 100% & in many other songs too. Im finding that many songs of my youth are now being revisited & are more relevant than ever b4, even after all these yrs, just in a different way, for deeper reasons than b4. Sometimes its the only thing that still makes me feel alive anymore. As it is sung in Strength Through Wounding....."Thru our Bleeding, We Are One!!" 🎶💘👥💞 Luv & Blessings to u all here!! 🖤🍀🙏🏼✨

+Jonathan Parham It's ok. There are many "Blemo" people out there. But to be fair to AFI they are a punk band that evolved their sound into many different genres. Calling them "emo" is kind of lame. They are really very credible punk rockers. When they started, AFI was compared to the Misfits. So just call 'em AFI, and Alt-Rock band.

Would make a good funeral tune, no? I plan for everyone to hear it at some point in my funeral just before I somehow play a bloody disgusting prank of the dead kind on them all, hopefully after all are kicked in on acid! Hahahaha!! What? Gonna charge a corpse for drugging the funeral attendees? Nah. Fun back in funeral.

Met Davey after Sing the sorrow came out, all if them actually besides Jade. My brother is a huge fan of them, probably the biggest fan I know, Davey wrote his name on his hand then my brother went out and had it tattooed, along with Christopher Hall from The Dreaming/Stabbing Westward.

I've loved AFI forever it seems. Recently I was diagnosed with a very serious medical condition and this song has never had as much meaning as it does now. My loved ones often say they wish they could understand what I'm feeling and going through. The chorus of this song sums it up absoluetly perfectly. "I'd show a smile but I'm too weak; I'd share with you could I only speak, just how much this hurts me." So damn raw.

I love AFI and this song always makes me cry. No matter how many good memories I have behind it, the bad one hurts. But it also reminds me of how we all can pull through. So even if it is sad, we should always think about how much it could've helped someone
