Yeah and I read that in some biographies about Jack Nicholson. Nicholson and DeVito were living in the same exact neighborhood they were best friends and practiced acting skills together because of the connections that these guys family had according to the biography. It's similar to Jack Nicholson and Warren Beatty being neighbors today and that Jack and Brando were neighbors until Brando's death.

Danny DeVito story; my friend was on a commercial flight sitting next to Danny (First class of course). My friend obviously knew who he was, but never made one acknowledgement of it. They just had interesting conversations covering lots of topics. At the end of the flight, Mr. DeVito thanked him for the best flight he ever had. He said, obviously I’m recognized everywhere, but you didn’t make it about ME. I learned a lesson from that. My friend made no reference, not even the thoroughly worn out “ I like your work”. Nothing. Just two men discussing everything except Hollywood.

@yellowcougar18 And the script for Batman Forever, including the deleted / alternate scenes, was much more dark and psychological than the theatrical cut. The studios were the oens who tried to make it as child friendly as possible. Schumacher had done a great job with the character in his version of the movie. Burton helped him, of course, and Schumacher said in an interview that when he was offered to direct he met with Tim and asked him, and Tim agreed after meeting with Joel and his writers.
