In the spirit of The Guild, Larps and Journey Quest, AFK is a new gaming / fantasy web series that will follow the misadventures of a group of gamers who mysteriously wake up in the bodies of their MMO characters. Gender swapped, confused and out of their element, they must work together to survive in a hostile new world.
Filmed entirely in New Zealand, home of Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, AFK: Series One launches on Sky TV's 'The Zone' on October 28th.

This is actually a pretty good series so far. Clearly written by some passionate MMORPG gamers, filled with nostalgic reference to the genre in subtle and funny ways instead of relying on in your face cliche. Also kudos to the directing and acting, very professional. The characters make me feel like the different types of real gamers that I would run into if I got mysteriously sucked into a MMORPG game world. And they feel more grounded and less soapy than many "isekai" Japanese anime with similar premises too. Too bad this only came across my youtube recommendation now in 2020, hope to see more works by those involved in the making this series.

I first found this show on Prime ( no longer there) and immediately fell in love with this series. I finally refound this show after atleast 8 years of looking for it. Mainly cause I couldn't remember the name and I can only describe so much in google. Apparently the new Fallout series is about people waking up in a video game lol . I only refound this show by searching utube instead 😅

That fight scene was really intense, was not expecting that for a comedy webseries. This show just got a whole lot more interesting.

Guys. You are great. I like your series. I think that your acting is good. Quality of your video is good, great even. Screenplay is up to level. You really did a fine job here. I wish you luck in all your future projects!!! Small thoughts: Though this "Vanya" (btw Vanya is diminutive for Ivan in russian) did not fight like real real russian reenactor, his line about russian reenactment... This is so true! I was in reenactment back in the days. But I leave. In Russia there is very very dangerous and brutal reenactment fighting. Guys who still participate - they are crazy (and not in a good way most of the time, though I really respect them). I notice that "Vanya" has some accent when he speaks in russian. But it is pretty subtle... I mean if I speak English too much I start getting accent in russian (and russian is my primary language!). I mean in Holywood movie`s their russian sounds sometimes worse (some time uncomprehendable to the point when you need subtitles to understand what they saying). And in your series I understand this guy clearly. That`s great. ..But anyway I liked your series not because of that. It is just good series. I appretiate your work. Best of luck!

When I first started watching this I thought it would be more of a parody of the mmo genre. It is....but...it's also alot more serious and I feel the tension building. Well done...I'm hooked

Yeah...if this ever happened to me, I'd probably die. I always base my gaming character's looks and skills after myself. So, I usually my class includes an archery skill...which does little good in the dark. I'd have been skewered in the first few hours. Unless a scribe or alchemy skill could be traded for my life. Lol. Can't wait until next week's release!

Good job. I was a little worried cliches would take absolute precedence and the frail elf lady would somehow miraculously overpower the stronger and more experienced person. Instead there was a near draw due to the elf receiving aid while the true leader stood his own ground honorably. Nice balance.

I really wanted to watch it through but... I am a hard core anime freak and anything with transported to different world, I am in! the customs were nice, the story was good but the real thing that could have made this really awesome was the characters. They needed to be catchy and with strong personalities, the characters were just to vague and... un gamer like, they neither act nor sound like gamers I mean a full dive in VR, thats like a dream come true!!! Though I really do hope that you guys keep doing good work(perhaps better XD)...

Anyone not seeing any problem with the leader guy? Yes, he forces you to join, but he shares the food and loot around equally. Treats everyone the same, doesn't abuse them or goes on power trips, etc. Hell, he even fought honorably (even if the armored guy would step in if she won). I don't even know why people want to leave.

People reacting to their own bodies with unfamiliarity is a Freaky Friday scenario (ie; OMG that's a lot of hymen blood, again): which means a well armed fully nude woman character can inexorably destroy every faction of the in game world. Anticipating an effete enemy; a well armed male nude character could gain the element of arousal: AKA Surprise!
