I mean, according to classic lore, he wouldn't be dead even if he _was_ hit unless it was a lucky hit or an illegal (and stupidly expensive) higher-energy (likely purple) blaster bolt. Stormtrooper armor may be absolute garbage at stopping kinetic attacks (re: sticks and stones), but the energy dispersal makes it so even direct blaster bolts should just knock you out at worst.

I hate this level of writing. Trooper should have kicked it, not jumped on it. A Class-A thermal detonator has a blast radius of 20 meters, at that range they all would have been dead. If it hadnt been the magical plot thing for this short theyd have been toast regardless of him dropping on it. Smh

Fun Fact about ST Armor: It is Blaster proof, the blaster doesn't penetrate the armor. However, the Interior shatters and that's what kills the Stormtrooper, not the blaster shot itself.
