You could almost put hough in elite performers. Critical element of our defence and is already a gun medium defender. So excited to see this kid develop

My favourite young developed player is easily young Brody Hough, second is the young williams. He has great footy smarts, and for his size is above average athletically, not to mention his constant tough effort, and is never spotted without being drenched in sweat. Dewar was occasional impact from the rip, not one game where he didnt contribute with an assist or goal. Given he wasnt given a chance until the credit crew captain left he performed above expectations for the handful of games

I think this highlight the seesaw we are in with our list and the next stage and importance of development of our under 22s. We get it right over the next 2 years we will be back up the ladder, get it wrong and we will be in the position like the Roos.

Really enjoy this type of content. My takeaway is we only have 16 players rated Occasional Contributor and above, which highlights our list shortfalls … but if we can trade 2/3 good players and draft 2 players who play in our AFL team, we have potential for good improvement in 2025.

Love the vids, agree with most of your list. Id probably move Burgiel to injured, was supposedly close to a debut earlier in the year when he got injured again. I think harsh on Bailey Williams, "fell short of expectation" implies that we expected him to win hitout battles, I think we know thats not really his strength. He did what we expect him to more or less while playing out of his depth. Occasional impact for me. Kelly goes up a tier for me, very harsh imo. As you say might be a victim of high expectation.

Great video! It shows where the list is at - lots of underperformance but also plenty of development potential. It feels like things could go really good or continue to be really bad for some time. Probably need to fill in that consistent contributor bracket some more with free agency also

so interesting that long, Hewitt, jammo and Bazzo were all on the injured list. a lot of young guys missing development. we saw how hard it is for chesser and burgiel to develop while spending a lot of time in rehab.

hough in my books could be the best young small defender in the league bc he gets all the best team small forwards and preforms on them still

Chesser is a little harsh, I would say development. And maric delivered just as much as harry edwards, he is awesome and can’t wait for his development next year

Good assessment I reckon. I'd Harley and Yeo in elite, TK in consistent performers and Burgiel in below expectation

Barnett had the issue with competing with Flynn Livingstone for a ruck spot and then up forward there was Reid. I think they need to play him ruck for an extended period of time or alternatively play him key back. But add Jamieson another ruck key position player and Barnett's career will go backward. Burgoyle got more hammy injuries this year and then got appendicitis. And then got the drop the bundle virus.

Kelly had an ongoing knee and hip complaint for much of the year. They're going to have to look after him or 2025 will be his last year. So needs to spend a bit of time on wing and half forward. Also, take chance to rest if he has soreness issues. He is a genuine star but was simply injured.

Harley Reid wasn't consistent.... but he was elite haha, so really he should be in the top most option. Hough elite for sure.

I reckon Yeo wasn't too far off elite. He had a fantastic season. Duggan needs to learn set goal kicking as a priority. Its not good enough how he is consistently missing badly. Hunt had some injury concerns but certainly is playing a lot better down back now. I wonder if the forwards don't tackle whether he could show with his speed and experience how to apply pressure.

Ledwards was popular with coaching staff, but has been average for a long time. At what point is he cut? Trew is another one that has been given less of a go, but just hasn't set the world on fire and is now around 23.

Personal opinion is you’re a bit too hard on B. Williams and a bit too easy on Duggan. But great video.
