I’m a Bombers supporter and I can’t believe how good of a job GWS did on Parish on the weekend.

I can't believe these videos don't get more love. I enjoy learning more about strategy but find most commentary on AFL to be painful. Thanks!

Commentary is very often dross to keep you focussed on the game on at the time. It's great to watch videos like this that take more of an overview approach.

Great video! As a lions fan it's been great seeing Dev Robertson play a half tag role he's grown heaps in a year from it

Hopefully we can continue using him as a tagger this season we haven’t had one for years. He did a great job shutting Selwood out of a game last season. One of the main reason we lost our 2 finals last season was we didn’t have a tagger to shut down big body midfielders like Petracca & Bont

Great vid mate, I reckon another interesting role you could cover would be the loose defender. Its a pretty interesting role, divided into two main categories, the distributor and the interceptor, both with polar opposite mindsets to how the team wants to play but equally as damaging to the opp. Would love to see your breakdown!
@FootyA2Z3 жыл бұрын
Hey mate cheers for the kind words, we're super keen to do a distributor kind of video. We have a Loose Player in defence episode out already so you might enjoy that if you haven't checked it out :)

This is a great video. I picked up the game outside of Australia having not played or been around it (besides tv) when there. Great to see an overview with examples that can be easily googled or players that can be studied. Also, great work on including AFLW content. I hope you have kept that up and do more of it.

Thanks for another great video Footy A2Z! One topic I would like to see you cover is the pathway to become and umpire - what are the requirements, what does the pathway to AFL umpiring look like, how is it different for field vs boundary vs goal umpires. Also I remember reading an article about very obscure rules written in the Laws of AFL document. One such rule was something about how the home team must supply 2 footballs, one of which is chosen by an umpire to be the match ball. I could be completely wrong there though. Maybe a video covering some of these rules most fans, even long time fans, have never heard of, would be an interesting one.
@FootyA2Z3 жыл бұрын
The home team supplying two balls is definitely still a thing in local footy, but not sure who's responsible for it in the AFL (I'd guess the league) and they definitely use more than two during the game
