Miss the Channel 10 days. The Commentary was always quality, most of the commentators actually knew what they were talking about (especially Tim Lane and Malcolm Blight) and they were the best hosts of the Grand Final imo.

I miss before the game and tool of the week even more.

Yes! I feel exactly the same way - no egos, just great commentary. Imagine the same commentary team from this game calling a game in 2020.

Tim Lane and Malcolm Blight questionable choices to highlight how good Channel 10 was. Tim Lane was a bit boring and Malcolm Blight (along with Robert Walls) was just a grumpy old man most of the time. Huddo and Quarters (even Michael Christian perhaps) were easily the best in the business back then (and Huddo still is) and were what made Channel 10 the best for footy

People never remember that Essendon kicked the first 8 goals and were up 48-0 before the Eagles chipped away and got the lead back. Was a classic game. Shame it wasnt a draw.

It's a shame the AFL was so willing to sacrifice an entire team and legends of the game over nothing just to throw its weight around and show it's running the competition with an iron fist. Now it's gone woke with social justice issues and completely lost its way.
