Saw this bloke give Winmar a lovely bump at Waverly, right in front of me. Saw footage of him training and never forgot it.

Doesn’t matter which team you support….. Glenn Archer was one of the best players ever….. gutsy, gritty player who took no shit….. I just love to watch him play and I don’t support North Melbourne

There's some Jekyll and Hyde or Clarke Kent superman thing there. So gentle and softly spoken yet ferocious player.

A champion kangaroos player, great bloke, was lucky enough to meet Glenn when our kids were born on the same day, a signed guernsey for my son, a ripper bloke, a north legend!!!!!

Archer was the toughest player of his era, courageous, team driven and selfless. Shows his real class when talking about Wayne Carey. He could easily just throw barbs to feel better about what happened. A class act.

Yeh I’m an Eagles man, but even for any neutral fan in AFL, no matter what their loyalty is… Glenn Archer is probably one of the few former AFL players that any fan from all 18 teams would punch a person in the face if another person bad mouthed him lol. *he rejected hundreds of thousands of dollars raise to stay with North *he treated every defensive contest as life or death *he risked getting reported every week (based on his fury whenever his forward opponent won a marking contest) *he didn’t give a shit about individual awards, team only *shinboner of the century *still to this day, he will not be disloyal to Stevo, no matter how awkward it is *he said to Carey on-air to his face… “I don’t think I can forgive something like that” on the footy show (I think) *he is an absolute legend to fans (I saw him at a bar once… he was talking to everyone as equals, signing every autograph… talking to every person as they were great friends… complete sincerity). He never got annoyed once or acted pretentious. This wasn’t a meet-and-greet North event at all, but he was just a customer buying beer after a North game *he represents everything that is beautiful about Aussie Rules footy

I was born in mid 80’s…. I’m an Eagles fan… but in my entire lifetime since I started breathing until now…. The 3 AFL footy players I have on my Mount Everest category of players I respect in terms of character (forget their on-field ability/footy IQ… just respect) 1. Joel Selwood 2. Eddie Betts 3. Glenn Archer There is no first, second or third in this order (it’s impossible to decide), but I am in complete awe on Glenn Archer as a person, his ethics, his loyalty, his morality, his handling of sticking up for Stevo when Carey almost destroyed the club. There are no words in the dictionary to describe how high my love for this shinboner of the century is. He is the heart and soul of that club… And I’m an agnostic, but if God exists (which is impossible to know)… Glenn Archer would be proof in the pro-god exists position in my opinion 😂

Watching Front Bar this week (July 2024 by the way), an interview with Archer and Stephens unfortunately showed way too clearly that the tension in the air as a result of Carey's past actions still persists...

Awesome player!!! Wouldn’t be able to get a game now. Will always be suspended
I would have liked to see Glenn Archer try his dirty play tactics on Barry Hall. Barry would have sent him to na-na land for an elbow to the ribs, or whatever excessively rough play Archer tried. Like Toby Green, Glen was a champoin. Why such skilled player need to be thugs is a mystery to me.

They won 2 flags and I dont think they would have pushed for anymore. They still have that. Personally I dont think ive ever seen a "scandal" drawn out for so long. Does it really take ppl 10-15yrs for someone to get over their partner cheating on them?
