The only thing I would suggest is adding yellow 1×4 plates (not tiles) in front of the crosswalk to represent textured plates for the blind.

That is a great way. A more cost effective way that I incorporated the new road plates in my city was that Robin Hood bricks system which used less parts to do. I love your content you guys are amazing but there is another way to incorporate them into the city. Thank you for what you guys do!

I'm currently organizing my LEGO pieces right now, but when I'm done (and once my room is better organized), I'm thinking of constructing a small city segment on my LEGO Table. Unfortunately, it's not much larger than 2×2 Grey Baseplates, so I may only have a few City blocks on it. Regardless, these tutorials are definitely helpful. I will be building the road first to establish a general layout. After that... who knows. I don't have a plan for my buildings yet.

I kind of wish they would have just made one big plate for the roads, rather than having to work in a bunch of little 2x4s or whatever. Just one piece, 16x16, two plates high, two corners have a top lip, two have a bottom lip. I get that it's not as customizable that way, but it gets the job done and looks cleaner than all the squares all over the road top

what i'd like to see is a dutch layout with the dark red on the side for bike lanes. just google 'dutch roads with bike lane'. you can use the normal with of the roads and get a 3 or 4 wide bike lane on either side. traffic can cross eachother by using the bikelane. I'm dutch but i think dutch urban planning is way better (especially if you consider the distances to travel in the netherlands) than usa urban planning.

since you have a small square at the end, creating a 90 degree angle from the side walks, how do u integrate modular buildings??? U are also using a 48x48 baseplate while modulars only use 32x32. can u pls show this layout and how u integrate it with modular buildings?

@@AFOLTV i found out something you might be interested in, you know how there is a gap between the crosswalk 2x4 tile and the resting snot bricks? You can use two 1x2 panel part# 4865 and tuck it underneath the gap, I used yellow ones so its like a crosswalk speed bump, I can upload a video if it doesnt make sense, but it makes the crosswalk look really good!
@schneider.mariane3 жыл бұрын
A little crazy to build such an intersection. Very parts-intensive and therefore incredibly expensive. Then even a baseplate is used. In the past, you just took a road plate and was done and it looked even better, because less jagged.

That's a lot of work to recreate the previous existing single base-plate cross-section... Lego must be pleased you're using 500+ pieces to do that! Nice tutorial nonetheless ;) The sidewalk, curbs & sloped access to the cross-walk are very nice.
@inspirer47633 жыл бұрын
I really don't understand this complaint. It's LEGO, the entire point of it is that you make things out of small pieces. Usually when LEGO makes huge specialized molds people complain, yet now when they brought roads back in-line with everything else people also complain. Hell, Intersection in the video actually looks like LEGO, instead of some printed kiddie carboard road. Not to mention that this approach allows limitless customization opportunities, unlike the old one when it was always a two lane road with sidewalks. You can even make bridges with this.
@diatonicdelirium17433 жыл бұрын
@@inspirer4763 I've seen more videos and uses for these plates by now and starting to like them more... however, you could get the same result with a simple 16x16 plate or even smaller and a load of tiles. he only specials needed are road markings and such.

Bought the city road plate instructions as well as the 4 way intersection instructions. After completing the intersection I realized the two sides of the street don’t align with the intersection as the intersection was designed right down the center of the base plate. Is there a tutorial as to how to align the 4 way intersection where the connections align with the straight road plates?
@AFOLTV2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jason - thanks for reaching out! Not sure we fully understand the question, are you asking how to align the intersection with other road sections? This is a single lane (each side) intersection, whereas our straight road section is double lane (both sides) and they are not intended to be used together. This intersection is compatible with the standard LEGO road plates (single lane)
@jasonarushing2 жыл бұрын
@@AFOLTV thanks for getting back with me! Guess what I was asking was if you had a tutorial or any ideas as to how to make the intersection compatible with the two lane road.
