1. Completely detangle your hair with slippery detangler. 2. Section and shampoo/clarify. 3. Apply protein. 4. Apply heat for 5-10mins. Until product is sticky, but not dry. 4. Add conditioner that conditions and moisturizes. Massage into hair to break up hard cast. 5. Rinse after 15-30mins. Product on hair for ~40mins. Adjust your application for your hair type.

I live in South Korea so it's SUPER humid now.. had to change my styling prodcuts to help keep my hair moisturized.. BUT, the biggest help has been following Afope's 8 week routine.. I at least have the routine to keep me from feeling overwhelmed.. You got this girl !!

@Brenda-zu7hw I'm 100% natural now, and every wash day is a new learning experience. Afope has helped me a lot on this journey, and I'm very grateful for her shared knowledge. Because I have HP hair, I need to ensure that I have protein-moisture balance on every wash day. Some weeks, my hair goes crazy and other weeksweeks, my hair just exists on my head without issue 😅 I'm in a country with 4 distinct seasons, and every season brings its own challenges. Currently, we've entered winter, and it started snowing last week (this week, we have warmer days with no snow) so the air is super dry and my hair is dry as well. I think it takes diligence to ensure that you hair stays healthy through every changing season.
@teedoubleu9602 Жыл бұрын
Also, because there are 4 distinct seasons in South Korea, I have to buy products that will help my hair for that season. So, I've changed my spring/summer products and am now using my film-forming humecants (KCCC, Camille rose curl maker) and other products not containing glycerin (which should arrive sometime this week from the USA).

I have a steam cap but when I use DC with proteins I prefer more of a steaming effect. I’m relaxed but high porosity and you turned me to Crece Pele and I love it. Oh and I miss your videos, hope your doing fine and will shock us with your own line soon. ❤

Hii Afope, I have a question, are you suggesting that for very fine hair, low density and high porosity hair, you tailor your application process to less heat, more time? great video btw !!!
@AfopeAtoyebi4 жыл бұрын
Hi Tammy, Density doesn't have much to do with the tailoring process, but for very fine hair, you want to be more mindful of how you use protein. It's high porosity which means it will benefit from protein use, but it's fine (each hair is smaller/thinner than medium-coarse hair textures), which means it can get overloaded from the same intensity of protein that may be perfect for thicker hair textures. Ergo, HP Fine hair could use less heat (or no heat if desired) and let the product sit for less time to prevent overload. Always best to start with less and work upwards than to overkill and have to fix overload. Hope this makes sense
@JanetJenkins2 жыл бұрын
@@AfopeAtoyebi I love the go low and slow approach, I have been avoiding this protein due to worries of overload.

Please use and review the Elizavecca Cer-100 Collagen Protein Treatment. This is hands down the beeeest protein product I used, because it also has ceramides and collagen. I don't know why but this is the only protein treatment where I don't need to condition afterwards.THough it is protein packed, I think it was balanced with hydrating ingredients. It is sooooo hydrating! I'm wondering how it will be for you, and if you can assess the ingredients. This is truly revolutionary, even more tangible results than olaplex(though I'm aware they are totally different products). This is a korean brand by the way. They also have a leave in counterpart for this line. This is a best-seller on amazon. THIS IS FREAKING GOOD it is scary lol
