hi Fops! Congratulations on your engagement that is a FYNE LOOKING ROCK you have on there sis!! Yes it happened to me but that was a while ago probably 2 years ago. I used the AUBREY organics biotin THICKENING shampoo. My hair is low porosity 4b/4c it turned into a severely matted rats nest. I ended up requiring 2 detangling sessions with a high silicone rinse out conditioner after the accompanying biotin thickening conditioner made things worse for me!

I have a type 1 hair (asian hair) and I still watch a lot of your videos and subscribed for the education. I swear us straight-haired people often don't have the education for hair care. I've followed your advices regarding silicones (I shouldn't avoid silicones) and high-porosity hair and my hair has never looked better, so I would say your tips even work for Asian hair like mine. The only things I improvised were the level of moisture in my products (I need way less moisture) and the frequency of washing my hair (I need to wash more often than curly people). I still don't understand about proteins tho so I'm still trying to understand that. Overall, I like your channel, very insightful 👍 You're gonna be big someday.

Hi fops. I just want you to know you are God sent and I could literally hug you right now. I’ve been natural for 6 years and my hair has always been unmanageable. Probably even worse than your recent experience and I never knew what to do with it, what products will help me or what to look for in products. But since I found your channel about a month or two ago, the education I’ve been getting from you has been life changing. I usually hesitate before I jump into any hair advice but seeing as you described your hair as having the same properties as mine, I went and bought some of the products you recommended in your hair staples video. And I also took your advice on using film forming humectant as leave in conditioner. I just did a wash day on Tuesday and I literally cried. My hair has never felt this good and it’s almost a week later. I haven’t had to remoisturize my hair since Tuesday. And best of all, wash day was very short. I actually enjoyed wash day for once. I can’t say how much I love you enough. You’ve helped this black girl fall in love with her hair once again. You are a real queen. Looking out for us high porosity girls.

I agree! I’ve been following Fops for a several months and have learned so much about what to look for in products as well as what my hair does and doesn’t like. Once I started applying my new found knowledge, my hair has been thriving. It’s like she said, “it’s about time you started treating me well. Now I’m going to show you my beauty!” My hair is stronger and healthier, and I’m not only getting length but also retaining it. I just want to cry because I’m so happy. Furthermore, with skin products, there are relatively well-known guidelines on how much you should use and how often you should reapply, but the only thing I get so far about hair is that it would be somewhat different. Hi, Afobe, I love how you back your videos with science, but I have wavy 2b-2c hair (used to be 3a but low thyroid changed that). I struggle to find such a reputable KZbinr/source like you (a trichologist) that goes over wavy hair and not just coily or very curly/low porosity hair. It's either striaght or curly. Could you help a girl out and do a video on wavy hair or understandably since you don't have wavy hair recommend a good source for wavy hair tips? I feel stuck in the middle! Please help

This was right on time for me because the Theorie Argan and Marula did a number on my relaxed hair last week 😭

Lol! Girl if they don't have the words relaxed in their writings I don't buy it. I have natural kinky coily curly 4c hair...if they don't have this in their writings I don't buy it. If they don't have black people that look like me in the marketing I don't buy it. Lol! This brand doesn't even have a deep conditioner.... I mean even Suave naturals and Tresemme have deep conditioner/treatment/mask/masque. Lol!

@@marleyhill34 I know 😭 I was at TJ Maxx trying to be adventurous
@marleyhill343 жыл бұрын
@@ThePinknelle I don't do adventurous any more due to some hair products causing me scalp issues. No more randoms. I'm in the old school brands now. They know how not to irritate my scalp and irritate my hair. Aphogee, Cantu and Creme of Nature live permanently in my house. I usually have some Aveda knocking around because that is the salon that I go to.

Great info. Where was this video when I was struggling with stripped matted hair each wash day 2 years ago ? lol I did a 3 month relaxer stretch and could not for the life of me figure out what was causing my hair to tangle sooooooo bad it was a nightmare and I lost a lot of hair during that period of time. Now I know what to do if this ever happens again.

Good to see you back on the regular! Your hair has grown so much. Did you seal with the KCCC this time around??
@AfopeAtoyebi3 жыл бұрын
Not this time, just because I really wanted to focus on the conditioning ingredients as opposed to the moisturising. But I’ll slowly reintroduce that back in. In any event, the knot Sauce contains a lot of plant gels in it already so I still didn’t go entirely without them

I would love to get your thoughts on using and making heavy cream into a butter for use in your hair. I recently blended some heavy cream and added honey and some other oils and used it as a mask on my hair and it was more manageable and easy to detangle.

I love your content, even though my hair is blond, kinda wavy and nothing Iike yours, I always learn so much about hair! I also wonder with bleached hair if there is ever a 'too much' as in can I still use product meant for curly/coily hair? ( in a much lower dose ofc)

I went looking for the Hask mask and found the keratin one in the pink package. I tried it and loved it! But would you consider reviewing it for high porosity hair please? Aphogee scares me. Is this anywhere close to being as potent as Aphogee 2 step? Thanks and I love your videos!
@annemarie35933 жыл бұрын
If you do not have your favorite product to detangle, you can Make your own with natural ingredients such as oatmeal, honey, olive oil. The oatmeal gel works wonder to detangle and olive oil and honey are conditioning enough to soften your hair and get the tangle out. Just Diy if you do not have a good deep conditionner at hand.

Have you tried innersense products? You can easily buy them in small sizes to try out from cultbeauty or from curly hair salons in london (online of course).

I don't know why but Tresemè conditioner (the one with hemp and hibiscus & the one old one in a white bottle with a green leaf on it) works magic for detangling my hair. I have really kinky coily hair and that is the only thing that does it for me. Oh ad i love silicones 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
