I honestly have been feeling defeated lately after my shifts, you would think 12 hrs is enough time to get things done. But I have to keep reminding myself that Rome wasn't built in one day.

Wowwwww this video could not come in a better time. Matter of fact, it's the perfect time. I just told someone that I don't think nursing is for me (judging from the test scores I've been receiving) and low and behold, this video pops up on my phone. How is that possible.

Feel like I've been in nursing school for 70 years and still feel like I know absolutely nothing. Apparently that's normal. 😂💀

In the year 2000, I was accepted into a nursing program, and after my first clinical rotation I felt 100% the same way you did. I went home and analyzed my day at clinical, and felt so consumed that I actually dropped out of the program. I wish I had someone to talk me out of dropping out, because I regretted my decision. Eighteen years later, I will be starting nursing school again with a better outlook, because now I have hospital experience and I know what it takes, and what to expect. There should be some type of class that pre-nursing students should take, so they could get a better feel and understanding about what a nurse really does. I think this would be great and help some students make a decision on whether or not if this is the career for them....

Wow, bet you didn't know you were speaking directly to me, huh? I'm in my first semester of nursing school in an ADN program, and my first clinical rotation (which I'm still in, currently) has been on the nephrology unit. Very complex patients, and I have to say that my first real day in clinical with a patient was not necessarily a failure, but very eye-opening and definitely shook my confidence. I just had to go back the next week and hit it even harder. Thank you for sharing. It's a reminder that it was a learning opportunity and chance for growth, and I'm not alone in that! There's hope for me, yet. 😉

I am an LPN going through a transition program to become an RN. I am studying so hard and I'm barely scraping by... I literally feel like I'm drowning. I called my mom and told her I'm giving this program my all and I'm afraid its not good enough. I made a deal with myself that I'm going to keep pushing and if I am asked to leave the program, it is what it is BUT I WILL NOT QUIT. Tomorrow is my first clinical day and I really need things to turn around.

I literally started crying as I listened to you out of relief. I am a first semester Nursing student and we’ve had weeks of lectures. I ace my tests with ease, exceed written assignments, pass every skill on the first attempt, and am always up to date with class materials/deadlines/concepts. Today was my first clinical. Scrolling on the computer for my patient with a dozen corbities, 30 (not exaggerating) medications, limited time, and a spotty head to toe assessment. Overhearing the nurses meeting to give report I asked myself if this is truly where I can be. This video consoled and inspired me. Thank you Nurse Bass

I have to let you know. I am in my first semester, and I am doing well, getting good grades on exams. However, I have never had any medical experience at all. I took Anatomy and physiology 2 years ago, and I have to study so hard to review and understand FUNDAMENTALS. I have extreme nursing school anxiety, to the point where I doubt myself and my place in the nursing profession almost daily. Your videos really help me when I get to that point, your message of “the grind” resonates with me and you bring my mind back down to earth. I just wanted to thank you. Sometimes my family and friends are tired of hearing how stressed I am and it helps to have someone who has experience share their advice and stories.

I did great in nursing school wanted to be a nurse since I was a small child....but I’m so scared right now (probably just because my nclex is SOON) but it scares me because not necessarily I won’t be a good nurse, but what if I don’t pass, I’ll be a total failure to everyone who said I wouldn’t ever be anything EVERYONE I know knows I’ve been in this program so I’m just so scared! This video helped ease that some!! Thank you for that! Some days I wish I was an engineer or something but every career I know there will be a huge test! And to think.....once I wanted to be a lawyer!!! Lol!

I just want to say thank you so much for what you do. I found you a few years back when I was a lot less confident in my ability to become a nursing student. Not even taking any prerequisites yet. Watching your videos along with Ashley Adkins videos were so inspiring. After taking some time to reflect your videos on grinding and motivation has helped me tremendously. I had a lot of doubt but your voice replays in my head that its all about the GRIND! I sit here at 4 o clock in the morning studying physiology. (I have a newborn and a two year old its the only time I can study lol) When I need to take a break I watch your videos for motivation and to remind myself why I am doing this. Thank you so much for your honesty and commitment!

I just finished nursing school. I'm a nurse , but I'm so afraid. I don't think I know anything about nursing although I passed every exam and every rotation with nice marks. I don't feel confident because my final paperwork ( a thesis) was very criticized by my teachers actually it was a disaster because the teachers who revised it don't get along with the nurse that was my tutor .They just destroyed me . I feel so bad because I shoud me applying for a job right know, but I completely freeze everytime I even think about it. Feel like I'm letting my family down. I haven't told anyone , too scared. Don't know what to do, honestly. PD: It took me 7 years to finish nursing school ( normally it's 4), I had to stop 2 years because I took care of my boyfriend who had cancer . I'm a disappointment . My parents paid for all those years. I feel so bad, but I can't say anything , and then when I was so happy , I had the opportunity to graduate, thesis happened and I can't recover from that experience.
@jorgefigueroa22316 жыл бұрын

If you have panic attacks, I will suggest you to figure out what is wrong with you and what makes you fearful. Stop being fearful and stop overthinking. Ask God for His courage and to work thru you. His glory and grace should manifest in you for you are made in His image and creation. Prayer is powerful. If atheist says no, remember he doesn’t knows God’s power but you do. Pray for him positively. Panic attacks are the enemy that stops from what is really for you. Keep your faith in God. He is our strength! He loves you and your strength is nothing compared to His.
