Can't agree with you more. Africans need to tell their own story and thank you Dr Maiko for your inspirational words. Those who want to help in the re-education process need to work with African partners who know "The Truth". This task will not be easy as it requires putting right the wrongs spread over centuries.

Happy to see an african overview by an actual africa.bothered by two things in the vid.black students appearance of being disconnected to the subject matter which is no fault of their own.we,as black in america, are under educated concerning our own existance in america outside of violence in one form or another, and more so exixtance before the american slave experience in the u.s.a.and the white students with either the expression of disbelief or a non caring attitude,or anticipating for it to just be over, 'i'm only here for the easy credit'.by the way, this was conducted,or taught in my state, super surprised this is curriculum in indiana.i intend to watch the whole collection of vids as they pertain to africa.great vid and educator.

Christianity was already in Africa before the colonial era it was in Egypt & Ethiopia way before it even got to some European countries. The truth is that most of them manipulated the Bible to make slavery seem okay which is just a testament to our world full of sin.

@@Babyfacedblackjesus i'm not saying it started in Africa, I'm saying there is one God and he chose Israel to be the kingdom & priests (even though the whole world is His) Exodus 19:5-6 and through them he was going to restore the world but because they betrayed he sent Jesus through him everyone can be saved. And there is infact an African name in Acts 8:27 there's the Ethiopian eunuch & the Kandake (which means "queen of the Ethiopians") is mentioned

Before believing that all people came from Africa it was thought that all humans came out of Asia. Now it’s being discovered that seemingly some groups could’ve come out of Europe. There may not be a singular starting origin for humans or at least as we think of Africa as the cradle if humanity may change in time too. Also no offense but an academic lecture is NOT the best time to suggest that “we don’t know how humans came to be, either thru evolution or creation.” At this point you should have the credibility to understand it’s not the latter

Patrick this is actually one of those lies perpetuated by the white man..when they came to Africa they found some very organized west African Kingdoms which even had ways of lighting the streets and proper drainage systems perhaps they even stole this ideas from Africa

Looooool Simple as that. You really believe that I got a bridge to sell you. Street lights weren't used until 1878 in London. They weren't common in the states untik the 1930s. Comments like these jusy make ne suspicious. Just throwing out ideas? Why not research them first. What are you trying to achieve? You really believe the world wasn't an extremely racist place in the 1800s?????

He is speaking to a bored audience of white people yawning, and sleeping! Why did they invite him in the first case? I found it difficult to follow because he never got beyond talking about what people think about Africa without dealing with what Africans think about themselves...
