Very cool video ! I have actually 5 larva of G. goliatus albatus and i agree, it's a very special care compare of other flower beetle or rhino beetle 😅

love Goliath Beetles, awesome video man. well put together. i liked the part going over each one in the genus individually. I used to follow a few japanese beetle keepers on instagram a couple years ago and they would always weigh the larva of various beetles on scales and show off the weight hahaha. looks fun

Goliath! I was hoping you'd do this one next, since its the only huge amazing exotic beetle that's legal here in the US, and I'm dying to have one. Have you ever kept them before? Are they hard to pupate? A larva goes for around $50 and I'm scared I'll kill it, but an adult is like $120. I really want that goliath gatcha too...

I've never kept them before but I probably will eventually haha. The larva takes a lot more care than other beetles because of it's protein requirements and you also have to have specific dirt for when it's growing and before it pupates, it's awfully picky about what it makes it's pupal cocoon out of and that could risk it's chance of survival. If you want the challenge, it's well worth it to read the two sources I have in the description. P.S There's probably the gacha floating around on ebay or something but if you need help you can shoot me an email and maybe we can work something out!

@@beetlecast I actually live semi-near a mall that has the beetle gacha machine, so I'll probably go back there at some point and put too much money into it trying to get the goliath beetle, lol. Thanks for the offer though. I definitely want to try raising a goliath beetle larva at some point. It doesn't sound that hard on paper. I've never had any kind of beetle before though, so maybe its not the best place to start. I'm probably going to get some blue death-feigning beetles soon, but almost no one raises their larva so... not exactly going to help in terms of beetle-raising experience.

@@blueyl4219 Oh wow, a mall near you has a beetle gacha? That's awesome. Lemme know what you end up going with! Whether it be a goliath beetle or some other flower beetle, the learning experience will be valuable. The blue death feigning beetles are great too although if you can rear their larva to adulthood, then you'll be perfectly fine with goliath haha

Great vid as always! Fun fact about Goliath beetles for us Americans: they’re actually 100% legal to import and keep here (except Florida). So you won’t need to hide them from the landlady, lol.
