@@teddyrella7040 i think there was a shortage of girls who came forward, let us be honest it is Africa and a lot of people do not have the sources to travel yet alone be aware of the show. i think they lowered the height to have more options

For runway model it’s been like that for years and years and years so they don’t think about telling them that because it’s like that for a runway model of high fashion modeling that’s what is Molly was about on the show I am I knew that before the showing premiered unless you want to model as a petite model

@My Subliminal Results ok, a lot of white people may look average, there's not really something we can do to make us look "less average". But saying we are average bc we're white?? Do you think we like to hear that? And you're saying that you don't like white people bc of being racist? I'm sorry, but not all people are racist like that guy you replied to. And to me, you sound a little racist towards white people. I know a lot op people, including myself, that love the beauty of black woman. I actually don't even get why you call us average, there are also a lot of people who are black. A lot of them do not stand out, just like white people. And there are also a lot of black people who do stand out, just like white people. These 2 girls may not look really special, but that doesn't mean that all white woman look average.

I think, especially African people and Asian people are really cruel towards animals and do not really understand what animal rights even should be or why are they so important. It s like these people would life 70years in the past with theire thought about animal Treatment and food production. Just hear the "Arguments" from the girls in the show. I know, it sounds like I am a rasist, but that s just my personal experiences with people from Africa, Asia and North Africa.

As the video continues and I hear Oluchi or Olichu or whatever her name is, it makes me sick to whitness how she discriminates girls for their height or their face, or their bodies. Fashion industry has change a lot in these last years, and it seems like she and the AfNTM team is thinking about the fashion industry like back in the 80's and 90's. Too superficial, and to be honest, I don't think this Oluchi is a great model. I find her work mediocre compared to many other african models, and she's not a humble person, although she is gorgeous in the outside.
@HereIAm247
@HereIAm247 6 жыл бұрын
I don't think she is saying that women are unattractive because of their height or their body/face; just that they don't fit the parameters the competition is looking for. :) Fashion models often look alike, not because that is the only standard of beauty, but because they have the body type/height that best show off the clothes. In a runway show, the focus is always on the clothes, not the models. This is why they have to be similar; if your eyes constantly have to focus on shifting shapes and sizes, it draws attention away from the clothes.

They're looking for one model. If that model is a plus size, a petit one, a very tall one... what's the deal? The parameters of the competition are somehow discriminative due to physical reasons, and that's something the world has been pushing to leave behind, yet they are still doing it. Sorry, but to me this is pure discrimnation based on the body proportions more than a real model search. Of course, in a fashion runway show it may be confusing for the eye to see models of different sizes or body types wearing the clothes, but it doesn't mean they can't chose a plus size or a petit or a very tall model, 'cause the fashion industry has changed and now there are fashion shows that are for plus size models, for petit models, etc.

The way these two judges do ther casting is worse than how the creator of the show, Tyra Banks did it. Tyra saw the potential in everybody, and gave the girls ( and the guys ) the chance to prove to the world that they will work hard to follow their dreams and become Top Models. Oluchi and her co-judge just make that decision based on a person's face. Modeling is more than just looks and personality. It's a much mental and spiritual, as it is physical.

Go Michelle!!! Never stop defending your believes!!! Even better: go vegan!!! ;) For Joyce: "Plants and trees have a life too!" ??? Well, girl, they have life but plants do not have a nervous system like animals do. You should do your research, before you go into a conversation about something you don't know anything about. And for the other girls: caring about animal rights never hurt anyone, opposite to your meat-eating lifestyle. Watch Earthlings here on youtube and look into yourself before you judge or laugh at those who live a compassionate cruelty-free life.

So America's Next Top Model franchise has made it to Africa? I don't think most Africans realize how Americanized they've become. More importantly I wonder if Tyra Banks is getting a check from the different countries that has picked it up... I think she created it in 1998 or it made its debut in the late 90s.

Why should anyone care if she is a vegetarian? Her choice. It doesn't have to be this big debate. She said she's vegetarian, they asked why, she said "Animal rights", to which everyone proceeded to groan and mock her. No one is forcing y'all to become a vegetarian so I don't understand why they are making it seem like she is inflicting her beliefs on everyone. If anything, I'd say they were inflicting their own beliefs onto her.
