I went to Africa because of Wode Maya and I did not regret it at all. I went to many countries in Africa but ended up in Uganda on a whim and found Uganda to be a great place to escape the horrors of living in the United States. I will most likely end up moving to Uganda.

Just in case y’all don’t know. Kagame is responsible for crimes against humanity that has killed over 12 millions lives in Congo. The only way this is possible is if you are complicit with the west. There are multiple UN reports that have been published that states that Kagame is supporting rebels more precisely M23 that are responsible for horrific atrocities that are being committed in the Congo. If you don’t believe me, do a simple Google search. Without western aid and Congo’s minerals how else do u think this little poor country with no minerals got developed so fast? Also Kagame is a dictator that oppresses his political opposition, just Google what happened to the hero of hotel Rwanda . Y’all African Americans claim that you are about black love, yet you are supporting a country that killing millions of Congolese. All this can be discovered with very simple research but y’all ignore this. No problem, one day Congo will tell it story!

The gentleman hit the nail on the head with his parting message when he said that if you are an African American in the diaspora, give yourself and your family the gift of a life time by making a pilgrimage to Africa, even if it is only once in your lifetime. It will change your life. You will never be the same again. The lady is so right about the traumatic experiences that AA's go through in the diaspora. The sad thing is most don't know that they are traumatized, they just feel bad a lot of times but don't know why. I have lived in the west and I can attest to this. It wears you out slowly like acid on metal, makes you sick slowly. Getting out and opening your eyes to reinforce your identity and belonging will bring some unimaginable healing.

To understand how Wode Maya's work is priceless. This couple and their family is saved from American horrors, and now living their best life in Rwanda. See some youthful Rwandans working at the restaurant just got jobs and are providing for their families as well. Two problems solved and everyone is benefitting from each other, that's the power of coming together. Thanks to Wode Maya, please keep doing it, one day the black community will put your name where it belongs. Thanks to the family as well, i loved their way of understanding and unlearning western toxic prejudices and maltreatment to Africans.

It's wrong to transplant their own experience in America to Africa. The history is very different. Calling your employer Boss is exactly that your Boss giving a job and paying you for it. The fact of life is there is hierarchy in everything we do , people must question what they hear not just run away with it.

I love these people. They're doing wonderful things. I like when they talked about how safe they felt in Rwanda compared to America. People have this perception that Africa is plagued with violence and war, in reality a lot of the countries in that continent are quite safe. Africa is a paradise if you have some money. The best thing for the diaspora wanting to relocate there would be to work hard, save enough money and then move and start some business.

All that online so called "hate" & diaspora wars aint adding up ,every single video of African Americans returning to Africa (No matter the country )they all emphasize how welcoming the African community has been to them 😍👏🏽 They want us to be divided and believe people from our ancestral land don't like us , but of the online back & forth is not conducive to real life on the continent

Very important comment. Conflict is inescapable. But I believe the conflict between Africans and African in the diaspora is very exaggerated. My interaction with Africans has been more than pleasant. A few have some clashes and run around screaming like it's Israel vs Palestine. Funny enough Israel and Palestinians are in an eternal war despite them being basically the same (in terms of racial phenotype). But no one stresses on them being the same people at war with each other.

@@Nobody-wd6ci I agree and the majority of Africans don't even speak English to even engage in these unproductive diaspora wars. Its mostly some very loud West Africans who are ashamed of slavery and don't want to be associated with AAs. And African immigrants in the US saying they were teased by AAs growing up. But on the ground, we love AAs and we only have good things to say about you.

Awesome!! I keep on telling folks that social media is one of the best things that has ever happened to Africa. It's a game changer. It has weaken the power of mainstream media. Don't get me wrong, it has is dark side as well but the pros outweigh the cons. The likes of Wode Maya, Tayo Aina, African Tigress and Miss Trudy are changing the false narratives that are often perpetuated by the west. We're now telling our own stories.
