All black diaspora who are descendants of slaves must get there land back FREE LAND back!! There ancestors had land before they were put on slave ships and they should not have to merge there selves into the local culture they can develop there own culture and own language and at the same time be respectful of other cultures and languages. ALL diaspora have the right to there own land that they were stolen out of they deserve to have an entire country carved out for them.

You would need a school to teach navigation and maintenance of those ships. Ships can also be used for logistical purposes. Speaking of ships airplanes are ships too. Teach aviation too they can also be used logistically. In order to trade you need a good to great logistics company. Warehousing is also a good idea. Then you could also create an African answer to Amazon. African countries need highways that connect them to neighboring countries for easier trade.

Even though I am an African who wholeheartedly welcomes AAs to Africa, the demand for free land by some of them is neither in line with reality nor historical facts. Firstly, the trans-Atlantic slave trade took place almost exclusively on the western and south-western coast of Africa. Therefore, African governments from elsewhere will simply say, "This has nothing to do with us!" Even worse for AAs, these governments can decide that legally therefore, AAs are simply American citizens with no special status in their countries. This means that the whole of eastern and southern Africa ( which comprises most African countries) will only accept you on the same basis as any other foreigner. Another fact that is little known by AAs is that, of the total number of trans-Atlantic slaves, those who ended up in the US AND Canada comprised a mere 4-5%. Brazil alone took in 40-50%! Given these facts, there are those who ask why AAs are so demanding, yet their numbers in the slave trade were miniscule. Secondly, the Indian Ocean slave trade in which African slaves were shipped from eastern and southern Africa to the Middle East was equally extensive and destructive. East Africans will wonder therefore, why only the descendants of the trans-Atlantic slave trade are making what seems to be unreasonable and unwarranted demands. After all, all of the Middle East and some other parts of Asia have slave descendants from eastern and southern Africa. Thirdly, Africans are themselves only coming to terms with the devastating consequences of colonialism which only ended half a century ago. Most African countries are yet to recover, especially from the economic devastation wreaked by colonial and neo-colonial policies of exploitation. Furthermore, countries such as Kenya and Zimbabwe had to endure horrors of war for many years in their determined quest to oust colonizers from their lands. In South Africa to-date, whites own more than 70% of the land, an issue that black South Africans obviously want addressed. In view of this, my suggestion to AAs is to have realistic expectations in Africa lest their demands drive a wedge between them and Africans living on the continent and in the diaspora. In such a scenario, AAs will undoubtedly be the losers. Bear in mind that until there is political will in Africa to change the immigration laws, AAs travelling to Africa are considered American citizens, period. How you conduct yourselves in Africa in the meantime, will largely determine what direction this process takes. From a political standpoint, this sense of entitlement does not help your case at all, especially on the very sensitive issue of land in Africa.

@@db6881 I am from Trinidad. island in the Caribbean. the most prosperous and wealthy island led by black people but is multicultural. I have land here already and for all intent and purpose I'd do fine financially remaining here. My country may have problems but is a higher income GDP per capita and the standard of living is higher here than many African countries save for a few areas. However, when compared to the chinese, jews UK, US and EU we have something in common. We are just consumers. We dont produce enough products to become wealthy via business. We just sell depleting raw resources to maintain the facade of wealth. Its not a saviour complex I am an African-descendant. Yet my people the world over are not respected. Even black Trinidadians think Africa is the picture that the BBC shows about conflict and starving children in mud huts. they dont even venture to look at youtube videos to see the contrary developments taking place. I grew up in rural Trinidad and so I have an affinity to rural areas. Overtime i could definitely just buy land. It would be cheaper than land here. But if we are smart we could do more than just have a place to live. I envision factories and innovation. I am an inventor and soon I hope to put products on the market. If Africa will be fine without descendants pitching in in the overall effort then fine. I'll go elsewhere. Nobody owes them anything. They are not more important than an local African in Africa who's in need of these same things. People who are entitled will never be satisfied. Give them land today and tomorrow they will ask more. This exact mentality is why some will never achieve their dreams and goals in Africa. The moment you understand you're not owed anything is the moment you'll learn to make things happen instead of asking for handouts.

Why do you expect investment from diaspora seems arrogant especially, when you offer nothing but disdain & hate? I know you certainly don't take such an arrogant, hostile attitude towards European and other non-African people on the African continent. I'm sure you don't concern yourself with their business matters. Ask yourself why miners & other African workers don't have basic, protective safety equipment? What are you doing to hold the European, Chinese & Indian corporation accountable? What are you doing to stop them from exploiting African nations? Keep that same energy for non diasporan overlords.

As a small business owner I think we should also consider investing in Logistics import/exports. I recently started my e-commerce retail business and I've notice that the system is determined to stifle African business by charging exorbitant shipping rates. I traveled to Tanzania and Kenya last year and decided I would work with the local artisans who make handmade bags and jewelry. I used DHL for shipping and found that unfortunately the Dutch, and US have the market on this industry and they are determined to make life difficult for us. This type of venture could definitely be an asset to the African/ A. African entrepreneurs who want to facilitate building throughout the continent also as well as making it easier to move produce and goods from Africa to the US and throughout all diaspora communities. By the way I am a retired military NCO, educator and entrepreneur. I recently acquired a 2 year residency in Kenya and plan on starting a preschool. I have a few contacts in Tanzania and in Kenya and am very interested in networking and bridging the gap between our family...

The idea of sending fresh produce to the U.S. is good. But how do you get African Americans or Blacks in the U.S. on board. We see many African Americans coming to Africa and instead of eating the fresh organic food, they end up going to restaurants to look for "their food" like pizza, burgers, etc. They're used to unhealthy food and it's so difficult to convince them to eat African food. I am a Black African Diasporan who was born in the US. Demanding free land is absurd. No visas, that is a different story. We should not be charged for a visa fee, but it is their country; not ours. Partnering for free land is a better idea. Why? Because it is a partnership between Diasporans and Locals. It would be a win-win situation if no greed/theft is involved. It would bring employment to the area/locals. The chief looks good. The locals have the land, skill sets, connections and the diasporans have the money, access, and skill set. We have to address our problems as a win-win solution instead of I deserve mentality. Because we all deserve. The question becomes-will you do what is necessary and beneficial for the progression and preservation of Black people? Most will answer no, because it is about them and not the collective (which affects the individual).

Agree with most of what you said. However , I'd go further and say these guys really are misleading their audience and playing up on the western , even AAs stereotype of Africa as a country. Most of African countries don't have leberal land laws like Uganda. You'd be suprised to know how many countries you, as an american can go buy a land and get it transfered on your name. Only a small handful. As for the skills and money , it depends on which countries you're comparing yourself with . If you go to southern Africa for instance, they have more skills and money than what an AA could bring.

I agree with Joanita with a twist. I believe Africa should take a page from Thailand and the British Virgin Islands. In order to own land you should have to be an African or Diasporan. You can however own the property on the land just like in Thailand and the British Virgin Islands. That would keep the land African. With these other cultures purchasing land at the rate they are they will own African by 2040 based on their fiduciary advancement. The bell has been rung and cannot be unrung. Africans don't have time to catch up so they have to put up barriers like the owning of land.

Talking about opportunities, here are a few random ideas. Maybe someone finds one of them a useful starting point: - How about a free university for gifted students both from Africa and the African diaspora? Here is how it could work: Provide the buildings and housing for the teachers and students. Then invite retired university teachers from all over the world. Provide them with just a little bit of funding, and allow them to organize themselves. - Look at the Amish and Mennonite people and what they are doing in the US. These are basically German _tribes_ that created their own pockets of 18th century German culture inside the US. The conservative ones think twice before accepting any bit of the surrounding culture, coming up with rules such as: mobile phones are OK for work but must not enter the house, where they may not even allow electricity. To a large extent they live sustainably on agriculture, and they have an explosive growth and their young families buy cheap farmland that was ruined by industrial farming and is no longer profitable for it. Also look at the Gullah Geechee people, the Jamaican Maroons, and Gaspar Yanga in Mexico for some inspiration as to what an African tribe in the US could look like. - I am not sure that the export of food from Africa to the US makes a lot of sense. I am afraid the US gets its imported food from elsewhere because it's cheaper that way. However, I like the idea of African Americans spending some time in Africa to see what it's like. Only I would extend it to a full year and would make it a rite of passage for young people. At first it might just be enough to popularize the idea, so the more motivated people find ways to make it a reality. Over time, various opportunities would be developed. Here are two: 1. Exchange programs between HBCUs and African universities. 2. Some African countries would no doubt realize that it is in their interest to offer 1-year (non-renewable) work visas for young African Americans, as they are likely to benefit their host countries in various ways in the future. And some organizations would no doubt offer a wide variety of opportunities to make use of this for mutual benefits to the young guests and the locals. - IT should have a great future in Africa. A lot can be done with a 5-year-old computer and a reasonable Internet connection. As the cost of living in Africa is typically lower than where IT work is currently being done, there seems to be a lot of potential for successful businesses here. South Africa seems to be leading with this, for good reasons, but I think it's a chance for other countries as well.

Why not make that exchange program stronger by including a few residents from inner city urban neighborhoods working alongside HBCU students & African students? Interesting topic. Honestly, I think giving free land might be a great incentive for the diaspora with no previous connection to Africa that want to relocate to Africa. Yes I’m thinking about African Americans and yes I’m biased because I am one. I think it might help in a significant way to make a challenging transition easy. Many countries do that for their genetically linked people that want to return, plus more, because they value themselves and their people. I do think it should be land that is truly free according to legal and tribal rules. Also, for persons concerned about this, I am confident that free land offers would still not be enough to motivate an exodus. Probably only a handful of people would take this offer up. So I doubt that group has much to worry about.

This way they know who they are, what they must do, and the be beholden to their tribe, traditions and progress for the best humanity for the children to come. Those people who benefit from the status quo will marshal their every resource, and fight tooth and nail to prevent the changes discussed on this podcast. When I look at that small and fragmented bits of history that occasionally manages to reach the light of day: 1) the systematic genocide of the indigenous peoples of present day North and South America, 2) the transatlantic slave trade and 3) the subsequent crimes against humanity that continue to this hour; and 4) the uncountable military “adventures” against people of color globally…I lack the intellectual ability to see how these progressive plans can be effectuated without a total restructuring of the present-day global order (which ain’t likely to peacefully occur). I pray that I’m incorrect in my assessment and that younger, brighter minds band together to do these wonderful and needed deeds. I pray for the continued progression of The Clock of Destiny!

This makes me think on western reparations plans and how those plans could actually work in Africa. Grants and opportunities are viable in Africa because the limiting factor that would normally be victim to sabotage. I believe Africans can create their own "wealth" very easily. Especially in cooperation. I believe free land should be given to those who can at the very least draw up a plan for the land. Residential - family size, energy/water source, interner/infrastructure, property/building size. Commerical - plot size, business size (if one exists already), business plan and land use strategy (blueprint of facilities, energy and water sourcing, pollution control/waste management etc.) Industrial, Park and & Rec, Nature reserve and so on. The catch being you will be persuaded to go where you are needed most. And going where you are needed most will be met with support, whereas going on your own is just that. I think people moving there should integrate. Its not like they don't know how. Code switch if you must. But to be able to do that, we must truly BE home. It's not enough to feel.. It must be true.

I think African-Americans, South American, Africans, and Caribbean Africans should be given cheap land in Africa as part of reparations from Africa. I disagree with the young lady who stated that they should give indigenous Africans land first. We have to resources that ability the technology and I know how to develop That land. And Africans in America are Africans. We are the same people. And one or two generations we will all be considered just African. Please stop separating Africans an African Americans.

Africans have the technology and ability to develop the land too. Black people in the states don’t have anything that Africans cannot build and make for themselves. And of course they should be given the land first they are the ones that live there and have been building the countries that you’re looking to come too in the first place. Americans live privileged lives in the states compared to a lot of Africans. Why should they be top priority when their security is not as in dangered as the Africans in Africa?

The technology transfer that the diaspora would bring to Africa if the diaspora is given free land to entice them back home is priceless. The Chinese were able to achieve their current world dominance status through the help of their diaspora when other nations would not lend them money 30 years ago. Africa would benefit 10 fold if the diasporans come back to assist with development. Clearly West Africans understand this but it appears East and South Africans don’t get it. But hopefully through dialogue, they would also understand the benefit of diasporans coming back to help develop Africa but also initially giving them free land.

Thinking about cracking that nut of how to best utilize the skills, talents, and resources of continental Africa's people together with those of the African diaspora will be of the utmost importance. Such an Afrikan army, if it's leadership is hijacked by, compromised by or otherwise beholden to external interests, as is currently the case with ECOWAS and EASF, would be rather weaponized and used against the Afrikan people or used in a partial manner to advance those external interests. A better alternative is collaborate amongst armies , akin to NATO. And to arm all willing and able.bodies citizens, with militias and reserves created from same, for local and regional defense against all enemies both foreign and domestic. It provides a better check for balance, better deterrence and places the responsibility in the hands of those who have the highest stakes and most to lose from such assaults. The people's themselves.

@@OpinionatedNomad you missed my point to the original comment, it insinuated that free land should be given to rich AAs to build model cities in Africa. My point: the average AA is not doing that in America, only the ultra wealthy are and if the average AA isn't doing that in America why should we expect that just because they are coming to Africa they will be qualified to do that? As for successful African immigrants in America, I am one of them so I understand well. What I was saying was that world over, the wealthiest in society rarely move to start from scratch but that doesn't mean that they will remain "poor".
