For those impatient! Skip to 07:00 for the Thank You from Gabriel The Cheetah.
Too many people saying I took credit for something I didn't do. I did not show much of my part because it was boring and wanted to give more credit to Papese and Steven; naming and thanking them.
I built the two steps from scratch from a scrap yard, drug all that to the working yard, dumped it, pulled out all the nails, screws, chicken wire, measured all support boards, poles, and cut them to size, attached the cut boards to make the steps, reinforcing them with brackets I bought, and marked where the holes were to go into the ground. THEN I asked the paid staff to help dig the holes and put together the parts. I finished boarding up the front and sides so Gabe can't hurt himself, painted it all and then cleaned up, placing all material back where it could be used again.
The end where I screamed was me teasing about almost getting sprayed by Gabriel. Cats love to mark something new in their territory as theirs. He was beginning to point my way and why I leaned away. He did not spray me, but yes I was sitting where he pee'd earlier. I've sat in worse.
What a pleasure it is to care for Gabriel The Cheetah. Gabriel is legally mine and I look for problems to solve in regards to his health and safety. It really does not feel like work when I do projects and spend time for and with him. Gabriel is a breeding male at a registered cheetah breeding project in South Africa called Cheetah Experience.
This a condensed version of the 10 days I worked, all compiled into about 8 minutes. Enjoy watching it as I did building this stair step to help prevent joint, ligament, tendon, muscle, and bone damage for Gabriel.
Cheetah Experience helped me gather parts, posts, boards, screws, bolts, and even staff help to build this stair steps for Gabriel. It all came from the scrap yard except for a few screws and brackets.
I spent about 10 days building this thing and joke I spent more time playing and caring for Gabriel and the animals than working. Ok, I was on vacation and I love spending the time with Gabe and the others. Point is there is a LOT of work to be done daily and in the future at a Cheetah Breeding project like this. The work is gratifying because you know the the results benefit the animals directly.
Thanks for watching!

Cheetahs are the only African cats that purr. And the only cats that willingly add pre-drilled holes in 2x4’s as a personal favor.

They're not the ONLY African cats that can purr. Lions and Leopards can purr, but only breathing out and all the smaller African cats can purr normally.

I love that KZbin experts, who's most exotic pet has been a dog or housecat, think they know how to care for this big boy better than his caretaker.... If it wasn't necessary, he wouldn't have taken his fur pal's joints into consideration. Repetitive exertion wears down any animal, including ourselves (for example, a marathon athlete who now has knee issues). If he doesn't want to use his steps, he has three other sides to enter and exit his perch. He seems to appreciate the steps though. It's more realistic to what a cliff/rock ledge would be like anyways. At the end of the day I just hope he's a happy cat :^)

DawgTawkWellington (DTW) at the very least this person is taking religion in a positive way. It’s a lot more common to find people justify the unnecessary killings of animals by saying that “god put them here for a reason.” Although I don’t agree with the beliefs they have I can at the very least respect their positive views on animals in a sense that we need to take care of them.

Cheetahs really are the most congenial of the big cats. They always seems so happy and friendly. Good job, I can tell you really care about them and it's awesome to see them in a beautiful habitat, not a cage.

Living in the NW North Carolina mountains I've been very lucky to have wild animals interact with me. Had a grey fox sit next to me on the porch within one foot of me ( after having her come by the house for 3 months every night ) had baby raccoons get in my lap in the front yard, that happened in August last year, and had the amazing experience of having a Nuthatch bird land on my thumb next to my bird feeder. I think anyone can do this if you take time and gain trust. I think animals read body language and movement. Feeding the fox and the raccoons was frankly stupid on my part due to possible rabies BUT it was amazing.

@@auralharmony1 I agree. stray cats often come near me but I've only seen wild animals if I fish. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you see it, I've never been close to a wild animal in it's natural habitat, mostly away from society
