WHAT ABOUT PROTECTION? I know you have that in perspective since it makes sence to protect one's Investments and Assets. Had I known is always at last, a very common saying, yet pivotal. We have ENEMIES! Judas gives; Judas destroys in the long run. To oversee this fact, is naive and deadly. Think about The Ojuku/Gowon war. Not the PROTAGINISTS but those who fueled it from behind. Nigeria, you have rich history that can be explored and utilized. I am confident, that with the support of your african friends you can lead. Cheerio.

At first, thank you for the content, it is very interesting to see whats happening in Africa. But 58 billion $ for 1200 km? Thats nearly 50 million per km! That seems to be very very much. That’s the combined value of different infrastructure projects in Africa. The Lagos-Abidjan highway costs 15.6 billion $. I do still think that Africa should focus on how they can lower costs. China has been able to grow their economy so fast because they kept costs low at the beginning.

@selassietetevie4966
@selassietetevie4966 2 жыл бұрын
It's very expensive to run unfortunately, you need to fence the entire line and build elevated tracks in some places,remember the trains will be travelling at over 200kph,if a cow or bus gets hit at that speed,it will be a disaster for possibly the whole train,killing thousands of passengers,.it looks nice in movies, but for now is not practical. Motor ways with electric vehicles charged by solar and wind make better sense,we just need to enforce highway rules,get rid of police and customs check points and not allow the motor ways to be used as local access streets, so these roads should by pass the cities if possible and the lands on both sides protected from development period. Otherwise it's going to be a disaster as traffic jams will make the journeys too long.

$15.6 billion for 1,200 km. that means $13 million/km. isn't that a little bit too expensive? even in the us a 6 lane highway costs about $7 million/km at most.

Good observation.... Too expensive!!! Egypt is building 600km high speed train for just $4.5biilion. meaning with roughly $9 billion that same high speed rail being built by Siemens, could have been done. With $6.6 billion remaining out of the total 15.6 billion. Taking China into consideration, it'll be even cheaper building a high speed train, since Siemens is German brand and a bit expensive

OR... Maybe... The terrain has a role to play in why it's more expensive? Maybe they had to pay for the land and also clear it unlike Egypt where the government owns the land and it's a desert so they don't have to clear any thick forests or bushes and Also building on marshland/swamp is usually more expensive than building on desert. Not everything is corruption.

@@spuknicjones9531 high speed trains and roads don't serve the same purpose....the development the road brings....rail won't bring such.....along the highway, several communities are going to opened up, value for properties will increase, people who have no business using the trains will use the high way, especially the villagers, more farms will be accessible within the highway, and the road is at the coastal region which means, there will be terrible terrains to maneuver (that cost a lot) so yea....roads construction are even more expensive is the USA than it is here.
