I kinda miss a Meerkat Pokemon in the region. However, i am very satisfied with the rest of the selection of Pokemon and you most likely needed to choose which animal to use as inspiration for Pokemon.

@Former Child Model All fangames are on the internet and can be downloaded on a computer. Just search up the name of the region or "game" and you''ll probably find a download for it, or just search up "Pokemon fan games" and you'll find sites that have a whole library of them. For a lot of the games you'll need to open the file (use winrar if it doesn't open normally) and to start the game you double click "Game" P.S if the folder has a file named "Note" It's probably best to click it, it'll tell you something like a game-breaking glitch to avoid or something as simple as not having a certain text type available.

The detachment I’ve had with Pokémon over the years is lack of originality at this point and brings me outside the universe as an older fan of the original Pokédex. Man, that regional Rhyhorn hits real. It lost its horn and died, like how poachers and Chinese have been killing off rhinos by cutting off their horns. Rhino species have probably the most extinct members. They are the closest to having their entire family of species going extinct.

I'm from South Africa, and this right here is one of the absolute DREAM Pokemon games!! Can't get over all these creative designs; they are INCREDIBLE!!! Thekwatt reminds me of the Thunderbird myth, Gazap and Zapelle I ADORE, Gnusno and Childabeast are AWESOME, Civer and Shivet, Splastro and Dimenphin, Vesshark, OMGOSH Majestehk, the Boltah line, dude, there are just SO MANY THAT I LOVE TO BITS AND WANT TO BE ACTUAL POKEMON!!! Another very amazing one is the Rhyhorn Lewekan form based on rhinos being hunted to almost extinction for their horns. The design with the missing horn with the blue flame and the skeleton forming over its body with the ghost typing... Omgosh, just amazingly executed concept! I'm just blown away.

16:06 the reason I believe combadge is part bug has to do with some ecology. It seems to be based off the honey badger and not to get into a whole research paper but when honey badgers raid hives they get a lot of honey and bees stuck to them. I think this artist is a genius for incorporating ecology into this Pokémon to give it a unique typing contrasting to their looks.

Oh, Syratel and Honbadge are Honey Badgers, and Honey badgers specialize in stealing honey from “bee” hives. That explains its bug and fighting-type. Fun fact: Honey Badgers are immune to every type of venom. This is because they feed on all sorts of venomous creatures (honey bees, cobras, etc.).

I mean theres already a good bunch of dark skinned pokemon characters (and i think dark skin options in newer games?). Im more interested in an actual pokemon region based on Africa’s rich cultures and geography

@@timurtheking It's nowhere close to the amount of Asian and European influence pokemon has in the games. 4 regions are based on japan while 3 are based on European civilizations with token brown characters like Iris for example despite America being a "melting pot". The brown skin character customization was a good change. But that's all it is. It's nice to see actual black people being represented along with a culture. This is a very good change of pace utilizing many animals Africa has to offer as well. If anything Africa makes for a more ideal pokemon game considering the great outdoors in the actual wild catching pokemon and having an adventure.

I loved this, so creative! As a person who was obsessed with Ancient Egypt and Pokémon as a child this brought back all of those feelings of curiosity and excitement I used to get when reading/watching stuff about the mythology of Ancient Egypt, just with an extra Pokémon twist. Edit: Oh my god I love Heiracat, Basphinx and Nightmarach wow Edit 2: Aloeviate as a name for a healing grass type is probably the best thing I ever heard today lmao

A fan-made region based in Africa and Egypt is amazing and phenomenal. All of these fan-made fake pokemon are amazing, especially the starter pokemon. I love that that the avatar trainers are royalty and the father is actually present in this game, and the pokemon champion of the Leweka region, and that the professor is your uncle and the antagonist leader of the evil team pyramid. My team: Timbiraffe - Grass/Rock Roarschach - Dark/Poison Tortempo - Normal or Arcanine (Lewekan form) - Fire/Ice Roylure - Flying/Steel Dimenphin - Psychic/Water Majestekh - Dragon/Fairy

This is the best regional game I have seen! From the concept, art, and characters, this pays homage to the original geography and history of the African continent and Egypt while still feeling fresh. The new pokemon designs are strong enough to not need much overlap with other regions; I would say no overlap needed (but the Pharaoh pikachu evolution is pretty sick). Usually, I only like 20 pokemon introduced in each game and usually play a core six for the entirety of the play through. I would literally have to catch 'em all in this one though. I also love the subtle touches like the ghost pokemon made from the urns they put the mummy organs in. CLEVER!!!

Syratel and Combadge looks to be based on a honey badger (also calles ratel) which raids beehives to feed on honey and grubs. That's probably where the bug typing came from.
