This movie called Devdas, based on a famous bengali Novel, unveils the 18th century culture, life, costumes of the Bengal region (East zone of India). The songs depicts the practise of lighting a lamp when ur loved one leaves and keeps it unquenched despite rain, wind, untill his/her safe return. It is quite a challenging task but her true love for her childhood friend and neighbour who left for studies abroad. This song was a joyful moment for her and her neighbourhood friends having learned that after completing the studies, finally he returns home.
