Love the platter, Kim. I love the chatoyance that Mahogany gives. And I love the rim you created. So nice. Great job! Also, thanks for mentioning why you created a stop point to help you keep from inadvertently going beyond it and wrecking the rim work. Very helpful tip. Please keep those tips coming. Regardless of how obvious or routine something may now be to you, it really is great that you explain things the way you do. It’s extremely helpful for your viewers to see and hear what you are doing as not everyone has the same level of experience and can benefit from such advice/tips. Thanks and have a wonderful Christmas.

Hello Kim. For some reason, your works remind me of the works of ancient Greek masters. I think you are very familiar with their work. The same angles of bends of forms. The same style. Is very similar. If we add pictures, it’s like antique Greek dishes). This is very eye-catching. You have a great talent for making a worthless piece of wood turn into a masterpiece. Thank you 👍.

Oh my, Kim The African Mahogany is beautiful as a platter, cheese board , or serving tray. The glass, bubbles set off the rim and give it an eye catching sparkle with the colors and different size of the bubbles corralled together. Thanks for the explanation of what you use, how to acquire them etc. & the education along the way. The "Chatoyance" of light and dark wood grain opposite of each other is really elegant. Does that happen more in hard woods?

Wow I never thought of using hot glue to hold stock in the chuck. I have a walnut bowl that I cannot chuck into the lathe as the tenon shears off every time I put a gouge into it. Will have to try the hot glue trick. I'm new to turning and always looking to learn something new. Thanks Kim, Merry Christmas to you and your family.
