That one seemed to go smoother. I prefer the narration, it’s always great to pick up tips and tricks plus it just makes it that much more fun to watch.

For an experienced woodturner the silent videos are easy to track. I mainly watch for tool usage/techniques and blank mounting. Your cards saying tools/items that are in use are enough even for beginners. Unless you are making instructional videos then the silence is fine. There are so many YT vids out there to show beginners tool usage I don't think you need to explain what you are doing. Don't get me wrong, short comments are welcome too but you are crafting, not instructing. Lovely work again.

Very nice! Beautiful piece of wood. New turner so I enjoy watching and learning. Don’t really care for the videos that skip over the steps and details. Yours are very well done. I recently made a lidded jug and I put a mortise inside the lid with some nice beads/lines like 3 so not only does it look nice visually outside but also when you remove the lid. I’ve noticed that anytime someone opens it they always look at the inside of the lid so I thought why not make it pop too! So happy to see you posting again. 😊

Welcome back Kim. Keep the voiceovers. Have you considered the use of dowel centers? It would allow you to not drill through the lid and therefore hide the brass rod. Drill the hole in the body , insert dowel center, place lid and press to make a center mark for the hole in the lid. They come in imperial and metric sizes and many are less than $10.

It is so good to see you back. I like hearing you talk. But sometimes just watching the work is good too. So mix it up a bit. Suggestion for the dent. Put some rubber feet on the bottom, one right over the dent 😃 and it would prevent it from sliding on the counter.
