Yes, there are many Africans as well as Arabs in China particularly in Guangzhou city for many years. But there are major difference to European countries: Like the polish minister said, we don't give social benefits. That's right, the Chinese government won't give a foreigner any social benefits: free housing, food, living money, etc what you usually get in many western EU states. Those Aafricans, Arabs mosty purchased local products resell them back to their countries and that helps local economy. They have to live on their own by the profit they make or they simply leave. They will never be able to immigrate to China since China doesn't even have immigration law. They are all staying on visum even for 10, 20 years, sad enough for them. So they are only in China for one purpose: making money for themselves as well as for the Chinese. These are assets of the society and they understood if they commit crimes or causing riots they are in a communist country and no law forgive and pamper them like in Europe. China attracts very different kind of immigrants, they aren't immigrants to be honest, they are opportunitists after profit they can make. So, please make a correct understanding of this. If you are an unskilled, uneducated, uncompetitive labor you won't come to China. You go to western Europe and looking for free living or Scandinavia. It is Europe, its policies attract lazy, unskilled Africans. To be honest, Europe doesn't attract hardworking opportunitists, no offence, I live in Europe. It's more in a phase of protecting its stance, income and dignity phase.

The key premise of this documentary seems to be that Europe will regret Africans preferring China over Europe because of their supposed openness and our supposed need for what is essentially cheap, uneducated labor. I don't believe this is the case at all and misguided at multiple levels. Migration of poor relatively poorly educated people to a country that already has a billion+ of those does not seem like it should be that helpful. Chinese are also migrating abroad themselves but unlike what they import, it is typically their best and brightest that leave these days. This trend is much more interesting because the Chinese influence is spreading very much like the British once spread the globe. The world is about to undergo a few changes. First, China is about to take over from the US as the number 1 economic power in the world. Second, oil and other fossil fuels are becoming less important very rapidly due to the emergence of plentiful clean energy (for which China is leading). Then, we're about to automate large parts of our economy, starting with the relatively easy to automate bits of work typically requiring cheap labor today (China is well positioned here as well). Finally, we are fixing ourselves as well. This documentary is talking about elderly people as if they are a burden. Increasingly that is less and less true. There is an abundance of well educated people in their seventies and eighties that are relatively healthy and medical advances are improving quality and longevity of life rapidly. Cancer might be cured, organs are grown in labs, etc. The reasons older people don't work have relatively little to do with their inability to do so. It's a choice that is enabled by wealth. The notion of needing Africans in 20 years to wheel us around in our wheel chair is ridiculous. If we need one at all, it will likely be self driving us anywhere we need to be. Either way, the trend is for people in rich countries to work less not more and to stay healthy for much longer. The industrial revolution created this trend, and it is still accelerating, also in China. Automation is going to quite rapidly compete with cheap labor on a lot of fronts. Moving production to China (or anywhere) for labor cost reasons is not going to be a thing in a few decades. Instead things will be produced close to where they are consumed (which may still be China of course) so that we don't have to ship goods across the globe. This will lead to a new world order where having cheap labor is no longer the key driver for economic growth that it has been for thousands of years. What is needed instead to drive that is an educated work force both to consume goods and to provide services. If anything, the US, Europe and China are competing on that front. China has made huge gains in recent decades closing the knowledge gap and raising itself out of poverty. It now has a middle class with purchasing power that rivals the combined populations of the US and Europe. India is moving just as rapidly. Some of the most valuable companies in silicon valley are being run by (well educated) Indians and other migrants. The competition is for these rock star migrants with brains and skills. The difference is that in the US you can be CEO of Microsoft, Google or a similar company. Is that going to be true in China any time soon? My guess is that China is merely tolerating tiny clusters of migrants right now to supplement cheap domestic labor (that is becoming scarcer) and is in no way ready to accept migrants in larger quantities. Racism is not an exclusively white problem and I don't buy that this is somehow not going to be a problem in China. Finally, it's kind of neo-colonist to think of Africa as a place where people will still want to leave in a few decades to work as cheap slaves (for lack of a better word) for us or the Chinese. If anything, there's a chance for Africa to have some economic boom themselves. It is in fact booming already. And the very things that reduce the need for cheap labor in Europe, the US, and China, are also key enablers for Africa. The next three billion people in this world will mostly not be living in the US or Europe.

This documentary was done by criminals from the capitalist fascist European Union, that have put all their bets on never ending slaves coming from different parts of the world to Capitalist fascist European Union.Japan has made clear that they do not want migrants at all, but robotic technology to solve their problems for today and tomorrow., the most intelligent solution to all the problems.Taking into account that automation and robotic artificial intelligence is going to replace the whole slave modern day workforce of capitalism in the next 20-30-40 years, it is a waste of time to have useless and worthless unskilled and uneducated migrants and people in any society.

The Chinese have not touched Africans for hundreds of years, and the impressions left by each other are the impressions of the colonial period. It takes a long time for the races to merge with each other. When modern Europeans or Americans meet Africans, It will be as amazing as before. The Chinese people's impression of foreigners is rather rigid. The reason is that China's opening time is too short. It takes many years for this concept to change. When Chinese people become more and more international, often go to other countries to travel or study, their ideas will slowly change! Many of the traditional virtues of the Chinese have been lost for historical reasons. Modern Chinese do not follow morality or do not know how to respect others. This is a relatively complicated social problem, and there are many reasons for these problems.

Migration is a sensitive topic, and i appreciate the views presented in this documentary, however i agree with those comments that argue that the optimistic views presented are unrealistic. As far as i know it, i was living in china (as a european ) for several months years ago, while it is easy to get a visa, it is very hard to get a working permit/green card (you need to havev a very high education and need to earn/pay a lot of taxes etc). I wonder if those migrants shown in the documentary have a legal work permit or which i think is more likely they are working illegally. Also, i think contrary to most european countries, i doubt that china provides these migrants with any legal rights, so in case something bad happens to them, they are in big troubles. Also, as shown in the film, these migrants seem to live and flock together in huge homogeneous communities separeted from the domestic chinese, doesn't seem like they are integrating themselves/ are being integrated into chinese society at all. This will be a big problem some time in the future. Anyway, i wish these african migrants all the best.

Diversity isn't what killed the USA. Diversity helped it win world wars, and is the reason why it's far more innovative and decades ahead of Europe, which is really just conglomerate of so-so white states, if we're all honest. Until very recently, when it started retro-embracing racism, rebuking science and voting for conservative nationalist politicians who have no idea what they're doing except stealing and blaming brown people for society's problem, which voters buy into as they continue to get stolen from.. it was over the horizon ahead. Diversity is the least of the things causing it to slip back into the 20th century, socially and developmentally. The problem with the US is.. it was born swinging a sword and conquering the world and enforcing racism. It never really let go of either habit. It has been wide open to a relapse of that cancer and now it's here, full blast, America First, fuck everybody else and that rules all of its choices now, and steers its society backward socially. It is losing an internal struggle with those demons and it is determined to die on that sword also. Also, it gives all of its money to the military industry. 60%+ of the federal budget, dude. Yearly. The most heavily armed country on Earth still spends all its money on guns, garbage wonder weapons and bombs, and hardly anything on schools, roads or anything else it's sold its citizens on the idea that they don't need. You need to examine America very closely and know at least these things before you make conclusions about what's ruined it.. because an examination any longer than 10 minutes would make these things very obvious. Our issues aren't hidden. Our history and our modern priorities tell you everything you need to know, really. What China can learn from this is.. don't fuck up your priorities or try to conquer the world.. but do embrace other people, other cultures and other ideas as these things, if you embrace them properly and don't waste time giving people different than you shit because they're darker than you, will supercharge China like they have done to America before it went stupid.

European wealth originated from colonialism and slaveries, then built up technique barriers. That is why most of the other asian or African countries cannot learn/copy from their mode to be rich. Oppositely, China becomes richer because of the hard-working people. It is something African counties can learn from. African also has a lot of hard-working and kind people, who are willing to create a better lives for themselves.

It will be the down fall of countries when they open borders for cheap labor. Nothing wrong with immigrants but pay your citizens a living wage!! Many countries have higher crime, unemployment and homeless citizens, and lower quality of life because of cheap labor. Cheaper labor eats up the resources and don’t contribute much to the local economy because they send a lot of their income home to their family in their country. Cheap labor affects my income in middle America. I’m disgusted by how my neighbors are unemployed while illegals and immigrants are invited from south the border and other 3 rd world countries for cheap labor. Pay Americans a living wage.

Botswana, Nambia and Angola (Africa) are looking for engineers to channel water from the Angola mountains, through their countries. Patterned after the success in China and the breakthough technologies to green the desert, these areas are looking for financial support for this huge project. Drawing from the need of settlements for refugees who had originated from Syria and other places in Africa, they are needed here to exchange work for living space. If they are coming from northern developed countries who have already accepted them as refugees, they are welcome to be re-settled here with the financial support from the country that had accepted them. Engineers from China and Japan are being called upon to supply technical knowledge on the best route for the water channel from the mountains of Angola, through Angola into Nambia and Botswana. These countries already have ancient canal systems, now seriously overgrown, never-the-less can be re-claimed and put back into use as conduits to grow crops, and, for aquaculture. Settlements for refugees can be placed on these abandoned canals, and be taught to replant the desert and restructure the canal. Refugees need to sign up through the country they want to settle in along with the pledge of monetary support from their former settlement country. Small temporary settlements, placed along the abandoned canal systems will be supplied with well water, seed for crops, trees for de-desertafication and technological data to develop their patch into the whole system.

Notice when he talks about the history of migration, how migrants build countries, he stops saying Africans and says migrants. Yes true migrants have built countries and large corporations, but Africans have not. It would be nice to see Africa flourish, it seems like its fewer conflicts in Africa but from there to becoming a developed country will take African countries many generations, and before ever getting there, new conflicts and disasters will most likely drag these countries down to where they began again.

I'm surprised to find that Africans could get the Chinese visas so easily. I'm a 2nd generation ethnic Chinese-Malaysian but living in America. I speak and write fluent Chinese. To me, a Chinese visa is not easy to get at all! I had been to China once years ago, with a commercial tourist group. Getting that visa wasn't a problem. Two years ago I was planning to visit China again, for a 6-days stop-by visit to Beijing & Xi'an on the way back to Malaysia. And I applied for a tourist visa as self-guided tourist. It was quite a lengthy process, with 5 or 6-page application form. All itenaries and info of hotel stays and arriving/departing air tickets must be provided, plus many other stringent requirements. I followed all the instructions deligently. End result: I was rejected twice by the Chinese embassy here in Washington. The first time it was an agent who did the paper-pushing for me. The 2nd time around I drove 300 miles to the embassy to appeal personally and brought with me an appeal letter which I had really put some effort into composing. And stayed at hotel for two days waiting. But in the end I was still denied a visa, and was also rejected to speak with the visa director, on the stupid ground that my Malaysian passport was a 2-year passport (even though still having more than 6 months from expiration as required), not the 5-year passport which the embassy people normally see. They told me to go to the Malaysian embassy to get an official letter certifying that my passport is a valid passport. So I did and got the letter. And next thing, they refused to accept that letter, and also refused to call up the Malaysian embassy to verify the authenticity of that letter and the validity of my passport! I really had a hard time. It was very difficult to talk or appeal to the Chinese embassy officials. They all seemed to have the kinda cold and un-welcoming face...A very disappointing experience. To this day I still have great trepidation about trying to apply for a visa again. As they say, in visa application, rejection will beget more rejections. And then the wasting of all those planning efforts, pursuit efforts, and air tickets which are not refundable...

The majority of black people doing business in china are Nigerians. In subsaharan africa, nigerian immigrants remit 25 billion dollars to nigeria every year. The second highest amount from an african country was about 2 billion dollars. You get the picture?

Some people have the false impression that a failed state is mainly because of the government of that state. But the reality is that that failure is the total sum of that state's government and people. So when the people in that failed state moved to another state, most likely is that they are introducing the customs and practice of that failed state into the new one. There might be exception individuals. But on large number, that is what is going to happen.

China is not an immigrant country...for the obvious reason-one child policy-I think you understand the limited resources. Language barrier is an challenge. Chinese language is not alphabetical...racial profiling/stereotyping is very much built in peoples mind. You have to tolerate and work hard to change people’s perception...other than that, as a native Chinese, I wish you all succeed in there.

Did China, cause conflict in the Middle East. Did China send in troops and invade North Africa or Countries in the Middle East? No It was European countries and other Western Countries who caused conflicts in the Middle East, Central Asia, Southeast Asia and Latin America. Now the West has too take responsibility for the mess it caused in these regions. Why force refugees onto a peaceful country like China thats, not starting any wars. How are Europeans being replaced, your are the Majority in Every country in Europe. Including the countries you colonized in the Americas, Australia, New Zealand. You basically control the world, with your privilege yet you wanna convince the world ya are oppressed.
