0:01 maybe we should feature a travelling soft toy companion per trip. This is Shrooms. 0:37 If if I may say so myself, that's a pretty unique way of spending a bday 1:11 Botswana really has many, many elephants. 2:31 yes the skies are always this blue, even in winter. 4:16, oh yeah, I kept thinking we were being served by the Last Samurai. That said, Lift was a pretty comfy budget ride. The food/ drinks were unexpected. 5:15, there is also a 24-seater version of the truck. For our trip, we were lucky to be with 10 other really fun folks, and as a smaller group, got the upgraded version of the truck i.e 12 seater. Our truck is named Taureg Someone asked us why travel by road when it would be faster to fly? Sure, but there's something about travelling overland that makes the trip the way it was. Slower and more immersive, or maybe its just the vastness of Africa. 🐘

Travelling via Nomad Tours was definitely a new experience for us considering we don't usually join "tour groups" - but it's something I'm glad we went through, because we met such good people and created new memories while exploring the roads less travelled. :)

Hi Diana, thanks for watching our vlog! Overland trucking across Africa is definitely quite an experience 😀. Glad I stepped out of my comfort zone to give it a try haha. Have you been traveling lately?

@@dianaleo6056 Asia has a lot to explore and to offer! Do share more about your recent travels if you can; I'll love to hear more about your adventures! Haha, taking a month off the typical hectic Singaporean life is indeed quite a luxury. You should try it once in your life, I'm sure you'll love it! 😄

Hi Jelly and Mr P, a very belated Happy Birthday to Jelly! It looks like a wonderful adventure trip. This is the first time I've heard of a nomad tour. Sounds like you had lots of fun. 11:20 Did you record the sound of the animal? That was super scary 😳 So glad you are alright. Did you miss Singaporean food?

@tobyteng7522 hello! Jelly's usually shy of ppl giving her attention, so getting our friends to sing her a bday song really helped chase her shyness away for the rest of the trip. More to share on the adventure we had. The tour operator we went with was called Nomad Tours, but as its namesake, we were really travelling like a modern day nomad. At that point, we weren't missing sg food that much yet, but after more days on the road, Jelly needs her spice. We had 2x precious Tom Yum cup noodles packed haha.

@@tzew Thanks for sharing your adventure in Africa. It's a real eye-opener for me. I've never been to Africa.

@@tobyteng7522 hopefully some day you could. The vastness is really something to experience compared to an urbanized city (and we really can’t represent the vastness accurately on photos and vlogs). It’s my second time back, and it’s still quite the adventure! See the smiles on Jelly, u know she had a great time 🙂

Hi Toby!! Thanks for the belated birthday wishes! 🤩I was really surprised and yet at the same time felt so loved when the bunch of them started singing the birthday song haha. To me, it was just another day in the year, so this one felt really special. Fortunately, or unfortunately, I wasn't filming when I was doing bushy-bushy (usually I'm done under 1 minute). Thankfully nothing attacked me mid-pee. I wouldn't have known what to do under "best practices" hahaha.😅

Good to see you 2 Mr P and Jelly back traveling in a new country where not many Travel bloggers visit. Happy birthday Jelly 🥳🎂
