I'm from Honduras and drumbeats like this are the heart and soul of our music. Thanks to Africa for it's beautiful sound. If it weren't for this type of music we wouldn't have much of the music we have now.

I actually just had this experience at a festival over the weekend. Listening to the drums while tripping and meditating alone in my tent was one of the most profound experiences of my life.

My people my people !!! The origin of the heart pallputating beat. I was not there when it began my forefathers were but I'am on the band wagon of pride. So much has evolved in music from their spirit and soul feeling of music and dance, their creation of body moving beats molded so much of our enjoyment of music today.,All from their love of expressing through music a heart felt beat the beat of life. I LOVE IT !!!!!

Theres just something hypnotic about African beats.. they conjure up images of beautiful women dancing... For me anyway!

I have no clue who may have been playing this piece, but it definitely sounds African to my semi-educated ear. Remember, much of the music of the West Indies originated in Africa. I've heard and played quite a few traditional African songs.
