Why because I love the Earth. And I question religion. My grandmother was Catholic but said chose your religion you are great with prayer. I found out that her and her mother practice something different in the basement. I learned herbal medicine. Lol no medical at the time. I helped a few conceive. I don't know how to rid of things and see things. It came natural. I have always prayed to my elders and water and made alters when little. I struggle to find my spiritual peace. I'm a loner with my praying well except my girls. So now I just pray at home. Oh I am of African, Irish, Souix Trib descendant. Many blessing and thank you. Glad this came into my feed. 🌞

I feel really drawn to African spirituality. Since I was younger I always knew I have a connection with the spirit world. My first time doing a spell I was about 7 or 8 around the same time there was a spirit of a man who spoke to me. There were no men in the house and he said my name VERY CLEARLY!!! I consider myself Christian but for some reason I am always drawn back to spirituality but question if it’s right or wrong because I was raised somewhat Christian. I really need some advice from someone who knows about it. I always feel so torn. I do some practices but only like burning Palo Santo n incense and meditation but I have ALWAYS wanted to dig deeper and figure out why I have this constant emotion and yearning towards spirituality and an emptiness. I also don’t know anyone who practices. I also am a dreamer and get ALOT of messages from dreams always have since childhood

Hey hun. I was as well somewhat raised catholic, and there was a time that my mom and I did not speak. For the same reason that i practice Witch craft, but also my Saint is Changó (Shango). But it is easier to do so for me, since we live in different countries. So, about you feeling torn, or as if something is calling you to do practice. Then listen to that voice, I can assure you, you will not go to hell, nor be wicked, or punish by God/The Universe. You must first clear your head out of the fear, of the am i going to hell, or things like that. Trust me, the reason it was difficult for me to connect when I was in my 20's was because I was scared and shut it down. Trust the God/ The Universe blesses us to be "weird", but we must have to pay attention to the insticts, the gut feeling, etc... you will be able to tell the differences, the more you trust your feeling. About where to go, or how to start, i had always google Spiritual Stores, and i allow my instict to guide me, if it will be ok to join that group. I hope this helps somewhat. Your Guides will take you to the right people 😄.

Many Blessings, there are many ways to God. And you are a Spiritual Being. You don't have to give up anything. Being Christian and spiritual are supposed to be Spiritual. Christian means to walk with Christ consciousness. Jesus is not the only master that has been here. There are many forms of spirituality, it doesn't mean you throughout any part of your spiritual journey. I have studied many form of spirituality and at times call on those that come forward. A lot of rituals flow thru, one to another. Take the candle. It is used in a lot of spiritual traditions. Incense, also. ringing bells. Remember we are one, and you can have many tools in your spiritual arsenal. It is your journey in, where you are guided or want to follow. I hope that this comment will help ease your mind, but always follow your own spirit without hesitation. Many Blessings of LOve & Light, Namaste, Amen, Aho!

Blessings, Maybe I missed it in the video but my problem is finding an elder to mentor me on this journey. I am an introvert and would like a very small group to work with; like two or three, lol. Seriously, I would need a small group. I am in New York City. I have been scammed before I knew that initiation was a process. I always honored my ancestors by lighting candles and house cleaning, etc but as far as in-depth with learning about the deities I was clueless. I thought you just chose the Orisha you were drawn to and honor them. Unfortunately, it wasn't until I confided in a friend that a man gave me a reading and said my head Orisha was...and she said it doesn't go like that. Anyway, I'm looking for a mentor so if anyone knows of a trustworthy elder in NYC, kindly comment. Thank you.

I love this question. My grandmother was Lukumí in Cuba and I have always felt a connection to the religion, but I am also an introvert and fairly independent so I never thought it was even possible to get involved because I assumed it was always in a large and very social community. I'm a good student, so having a teacher is not the issue, it's just more liking doing things more intimately or on my own. I hope she answers your question. I'd like to know how to go about finding the right teacher for someone like us. I'm from Los Angeles.
@3rdeyeblaque4 жыл бұрын
Peace Queen ✌🏾 you're not alone. I'm in the greater NYC area too and am in a similar boat. I'm very much about honoring tradition and old school, so i would really love to work under an elder to learn hands-on, on person, practical teachings in my craft, which at the moment is just Hoodoo. I've learned ALOT. I've started from the ground up. Ancestral veneration is a daily factor of my life - a lifestyle not a habit. I attend workshops when they're offered (i enjoy Yeyeo's if you're interested in hopping on the trains), I've studied various black produced literature, joined 1 online group, and all of that is great it really is i just really wish i had an elder teacher(s) to learn from. All of my elders have transitioned except 1 with Alzheimer's. Granted I've discovered gifts i share from my ancestors but if course they can't teach in the flesh. So anyways, i feel you love. You're not alone. There are many of us out there

I'm alone and afraid with no real purpose, at one point I fell into a pity pot. I just needed someone to point out where to start over thru the orishas and help me find that stepping stone that will lead me to the Casa de Santo. Ashe

It is our souls that are here nothing else. Separation is an illusion. From my understanding;first, we come from the creator. Secondly, I heard where we all come from, African descendants. And thirdly ; if an African Master shows up to me as a guide? All Masters teach us to love one another, share the Love. No one in this Universe owns anything.
