As a child of both indigenous Nicaraguan and Jamaican immigrants, I have always felt that traditional Christianity was not telling the whole truth and was filled with false narratives and biased interpretations. As I become more aware and conscious, I have developed a growing urge to learn more about my origins and it’s relationship to spirituality and divinity. Maaaan, I couldn't have said it any better. I have been trying to figure out how to explain or put into words my spiritual journey recently. The more I read or listen to the Bible and put some real thought into it & religion, particularly Christianity, the more I feel like something is not right. There's a lot that doesn't make sense. There's something they're not telling us. Something they don't want us to know. The more I feel deceived and manipulated. Perhaps there's a lot they don't know but instead of saying they don't know they just made up some stuff to fill in the blanks. All of this leads me to want to know what was the religion, beliefs, traditions, culture, language and even diet of my people before the Trans-Atlantic slave trade.

I responded because I would like to reply about your comment about finding your own truth and ask, what good is that pursuit in your opinion if it does not lead to a proper faith and worship of God? Would you rather still choose an ancestral tradition or what is comfortable to you over what is true? History reveals what this looks like when we desire to establish our own faith and worship without proper knowledge of the Divine. From the OT times to the 20th century God has shown us we cannot do this and desires us to repent for having done so as the scripture tells us, ("Men of Athens i preceive you are very religious. Though I agree God has made all men everywhere able to seek Him... ("That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:") ...and acknowledge God exists without knowing the Bible or being a 'Christian' or the practice of spiritualism...( "By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God so what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.") .... (" For His invisible attributes namely his eternal power and divine nature have been clearly perceived ever since the creation of the world in the things that have been made.."). But then there is still the question, what are we to do with this understanding of the Divine? Do we randomly call upon nature or spirits as we please to feel a 'connection' with our environment or Creator? Are we to follow our own ideology and/or traditions over what is natural? no. But there is good news, the good news is that we can know and align ourselves to the Divine in a way He calls for ...(Jesus said, "I am the way the truth and the life no one comes to the Father except through Me") & (Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit"). The Bible reveals that we are spiritually dead without Christ and stand before God as guilty sinners and that's where the good news of the Gospel comes in to reconcile us back to a relationship with our Divine Creator since God desire those who desire to worship Him must do so in Spirit and truth. That's only accomplished through faith in Jesus Christ.. "And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” .. "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek."

thechosenfew…I like your tag line. It speaks volumes. I feel that there are a few who think as I do, with the exception of a few. This world system is designed to make the masses believe in a one world society when it comes to everything we have been taught. As I get older I am learning to question many things . When you are seen as a person that does not conform to the system you become a target to be ridiculed , mocked, and punished. The ancient belief system tapped into vibration and frequency, harnessing the elements duality etc. If you believe everybody is of god and is an expression of god you would look at life and go about it differently. Than a person who don’t think they’re god at all but don’t necessarily think other life forms are as important. Only think god chose them as the chosen and was told to worship said god by the government and powers at be. Thats two different mindsets. The belief as regards the deity is a cultural phenomenon. Phenomenon, that is the objective representation of the sensitive reality. If this perspective, Africans had forms belief. The problem of Christianity in Africa isn't Christianity per se which is a wonder if one has an idea of what Christianity is all about. I’m also a seeker too and I realized quite recently that your spirituality has a lot to do with your environment, culture and tradition. We were deceived by those who colonized us that our traditions were fetish and their religion was superior to our traditions. Come to think of it, the same people that brought us Christianity were the same people that enslaved us, how can we trust this people? I come from a place in Nigeria where people can stop the rain from Falling if there is an important occasion. They just need say a few words and make some Incantations and in no time the rain would stop if it was already falling. So how is this practice fetish?
