This method is very good to stretch hair before flat iron and helps to achive very nice straight ends especially for those ends that tend to reverse you also spend 10 time less time to blowdry hair before flat iron.

I used threading for stretching my hair. But the thread was hard for me to take out so I started using ribbon and that's a lot easier for me.

hehe! u're back! hope u started the new year well! Well, for the threading am asking myself why to make knots at the basement? u will have more breakage by undoing ur hair. the way i see it from this video, threading is not the best style u can do. But ur adviseson the maintenance is right on point. especially for non-african people that are not used to the styles, they can make a lot of mistake and damage their hair unknownly

Very interesting stuff... I have never seen anything like this done before. I guess I have seen people with threads in their hair but never actually seen how to do it. I wasn't expecting the twisted thread with your hair to be so much bigger. Did you use roughly the same amount of hair? Very well done as usual, love watching your videos. research for when and if I have to start doing my daughter's hair when she gets older. Happy New Year!

Interesting I've never seen the base knotted before. We just tend to wind the thread a few times till it's secure. I do these to atretch my hair bt when it's longer I have so many ideas for intricate updos and designs from my childhood. Used to get these all the time growing up in Zimbabwe. We call them mabhanzi. I prefer using knitting yarn or pantyhose as it's kinder on my strands. The thread cuts through my hair like a knife even when doubled up or trebled.

I love love African Threading. In Nigeria (Well the part I'm from) we call it "Irun Kiko", My grandma use to do it for me when I was younger. I haven't done it in years, but I think I might try it one of these days. It's one of the best ways to protect and stretch hair.

I have really enjoy your videos so far, love you dancing. I have noticed that my hair feels really dry when I African thread on my wet or damp hair. I usually seal with my shea butter mix. Have you noticed a difference when done on semi stretched moisturised dry hair?

Very cool, so this must be done on dry hair? Also how long do you keep it in for a good stretch?
@biebersgirlist
@biebersgirlist 10 жыл бұрын
you can do it on wet hair as well, not soaking wet hair but damp and if you want a real stretch you can put the thread in leave it in for a few hours take it out comb it then re do it , take it out again comb it nd put some type of oil or conditioner in it and then thread your hair again for a good stretch.

I was thinking of trying this for when I go swimming but I'm wondering if the string would cut into the hair when the hair swells. Wish I could find a less abrasive fiber to do this with.
