I just want to thank you for having this channel bc it has been really helpful to me. I have been watching your videos all day!!! I have been relaxing my hair since I was like 4 or five and it's all I have ever done. When I was about 10 a woman used too strong of a relaxer and my hair started breaking off and i had to start fresh. It was a traumatic experience for me but I just grew it out natural, had braids all of the time, and two years later I got it relaxed again... Loved relaxed hair for a while, but after a year I went back to being natural bc I just didn't see the point in chemicals and damaged hair for no good reason, Now my whole family is going natural!!!! Needless to say we are all clueless. I have been getting braids letting it grow out, but this channel has been a life saver!!! 😊 Thanks you so much for sharing!!!

You are so pretty , I have been natural for about 6 months my hair after I cut the relaxed end went from my forehead to bridge of nostril but I have noticed that my left edge had been thinning and has some bald spots do you have any suggestion on what I should do it soo embarrassing
@PureEstrogen10 жыл бұрын
aminata suma I'm so sorry about that. Sudden occurrences like that may be caused by either an unhealthy diet or underlying condition. Try increasing your fluids (water) and eat more fruits and veggies. Also, avoid pulling your hair in puffs because that may also be the culprit. If you notice any more thinning, I would definitely see a dermatologist.

onions and garlic will help that. if you have shedding do a black tea rinse once a month. and for oil use castor oil...you edges will grow back in no time

seuma tavares You can use any one of your favorite creams and oil or you can do it the old fashioned way and use a little bit of water in place of a moisturizer and some oil/ shea butter. Use very little water or your hair will take a couple of days to dry.

This is done so you won't have to use heat so it's not worth doing it with heat. Secondly it's not about drying, it's about time. The more you wear them the best the results. Candace Merritt I usually just use an oil or butter while it's straight. I tie a scarf on my head or sleep with a bonnet. It stays stretched until wash day. It will revert a little, but it will never get close to kinky. :)

You are gorgeous and so is your hair! Also will yarn braids stretch out my hair? Thats what i have in, currently.
@PureEstrogen8 жыл бұрын
Selena Lamothe Thank you. I think they should be able to stretch your hair.

I loved this. Can I use regular thread?
@PureEstrogen7 жыл бұрын
Malkia Brown Yes. Just double or triple it

Do you do this when its wet damp or dry
@PureEstrogen9 жыл бұрын
SimplisticallyUs All of the above. If it's dry, the hair will set overnight. If it's wet or damp, you'll need one to two days for it to dry completely.

Do you leave space in between the threading?
@PureEstrogen8 жыл бұрын
Rebecca Dutes Yes. I leave about half a centimeter on average. The bigger the section of hair, the more I leave in between.

My mom used to do this all the time when I was little, even when she relaxed my hair!

My mom did it with my relaxer too. lol

Where can i buy african thread in stores? Or if i can't what kind of string is a good substitute for ordering it online?
@PureEstrogen9 жыл бұрын
+Jamilah F. Pryce Beauty supply stores typically carry high strength weaving thread. That's what I use. I got mine from Sally's.

My hair is about your length with about the same texture. How long does the threading take to complete?
@PureEstrogen10 жыл бұрын
yobess About two hours or less. I just depends on what kind of mood i'm in.
