My Trini friends in the USA prefers Jamaica. I sent them your videos. They left along time ago. Husay is in Jamaica too in August it;s the muslim Indian Community holiday. That is not a 3 millioni home in that neighborhood. Don't run across the road. If you fall that's going to be catastrophic. Always walk fast but no running.

@@rosemariegray-olabiran7991sounds like you think the government is doing the people of Trinidad and Tobago a favour. Trinis don't need to go around being grateful to the government. So, if the people are not satisfied with the way their money is spent, they have a right to express that.

Just saying as a Jamaican who have had the privilege of visiting many Caribbean Islands I absolutely love the region. I am in awe with the beauty and diversity of the landscape, the people , our differences and our similarities. Fact is we all have great and not so great aspects of each of our Island home. Why can’t we love our home island without belittling another. After all it was same ship, same trip different port that find our ancestors where we now find ourselves . I’m so looking forward to visiting the other islands on my list ❤❤❤

@@Clairemont7893 Most people listen with too much emotion. The resource curse in Africa is real and very clear in Angola and Nigeria and elsewhere including countries in Southern Africa where i am from endowed with a lot of mineral resources and big time tourism due to game viewing and the beauty of the land. If you compare Trinidad to a lot of African countries then it seems they have managed their resources better kind of like Botswana which has very low corruption. However, I think countries should be looking at a country like Norway and seeing how national resources should be managed. The man mentioned income inequality and that is a good measure of economic prosperity for the average folks. Unfortunately many take any criticism personally instead of just stating their counter points. Also a few people tend to engage in high level theft or monopolize major sectors of the economy, so that is not a reflection of the average person but the impact of such grand theft is obvious and cannot be ignored. The man was very fair in my opinion.

Education has always been free to everyone in Trinidad. Trinidadians were always given scholarships to study abroad before we had free university education, but you had to earn it. Free high school education started in 1957. Medicals are also free. There has always been subsidized housing by the government for the poorer people. I don't agree with what he said about people having money because of illicit activities. Trinidad has always had immigrants coming from the rest of the Caribbean and Venezuela, since the late 1800's after slavery. There are poorer areas like there are in every country in the world. To say that they have not done enough is very unfair. The average Trinidadian lives better than a lot of people do in some of the developed countries. You cannot be lazy, not educate yourself and expect to achieve a comfortable life. We once had a shanty town and the government built decent houses for the people. They still continue not to take a pride in their surroundings. Don't blame the government. People cannot expect daily handouts from the government like they do in the big countries. I live in a big country and there is no assistance to own your own home in a housing development like in Trinidad. Trinidad for decades has been infiltrated with immigrants from the other Caribbean islands and Venezuelans who have to start from scratch. I am an older Trinidadian and I was able to go abroad and make it with the education that I had. I left the country decades ago, and I am still grateful and appreciate what my country did for me.

I know the entire Beetham estate was immigrants from the other islands living in the labass, the garbage dump. They left their impovished islands to come for work. The Eric Williams PNM government built the Beetham housing estate for them. They got free education for their children who then turn around and committed crimes against Trinidadians living in the area. Trinidadians begged for them to be sent home but the government pleaded for them to stay. They did not have the same morals as the Christian Trinidadians. They also came and took over the hills with shanty huts now called Laventile hills. If you speak to many of them, they are probably second generation Trinis with foreign parents and grandparents.

Trinidad and Tobago is a paradise with so much to offer to the visitors. So much to see and do. It is arguably the most cosmopolitan country in the Caribbean with so many different races and religion. For a small country of 1.5 million people to invent Calypso, Soca, Steel pan, Limbo, and Chutney is something the people can be proud of, and in addition, the first black woman to win the Miss Universe competition is from Trinidad and Tobago. We love our country. It is not perfect, far from, but it is special.

It is quite said that we has Caribbean people cannot come on a forum and just have fun. Cant we all just celebrate what rach island has to offer. I'm a Jamaican who flies the flag proudly. But i'm sick and tired of this conversation of which island is better. This ego trip thst my island is better thsn yours must stop. This person instead of enjoying the beautiful presentstion of T&T had to bring across this negative vibes. Sadly you all fell into the trap of then lashing out by painting Jamaicans eith a broad brush. Acrican Tigrrss made it very clesr that she would be returning to Jamaica soon. But even if she wasnt why get angry at her. Its not like Jamsica is short of KZbinrs visiting the country. Come on all lets take the high road this is 2024 we can do better than this. Lets ignore the attention seekers. Lets keep the conversations positive. One love.

Yes, Trinidad is the wealthiest country in this hemisphere outside USA and Canada, Curtis just talking from News talk and Political talk, he may not even know much about Trinidad economy, some people just like to complain about everything and blame the government regardless of how much help they get. Trinidad is one of the countries that try to take care of its people but can never do enough regardless of who is in power. This is a sweet country, and Trinis are such beautiful people so ignore Chris negative comments. What is needed is unity between the UNC/PNM to address crime.

I dont agree with the guy statement. Trinidad and Tobago is a high come country. African trinis are always complaining. Free health care, free education, free school lunches, old age pension, food card for the poor, free surgery , good cancer care, Trinidadians get free medicine and many other benefits to help the less unfortunate. Great transportation system, stable government, Trinidad owns their own national airlines, housing projects for low income people, great Caribbean island for foreign investors, stable economy, religous freedom, rich in culture, great universities, etc. We will not get rid of our politicians, stable political parties, stable democracy, great school network systems, government clinic in every village etc, we have great care for diabetics, cancer, food is reasonable, especially in the market, stable electricity, stable internet, etc. We are not perfect, but we are very happy and lucky to be born in Trinidad and Tobago. Crime is everywhere in the world. Trinidad and Tobago is still a country that immigrants imigrate to to build a good life. That gentle man is talking a bunch of shyte. We have our issues, we are not perfect but its a great country where immigrants imigrate to .
