Wow the way the West Indies fetch loads on the donkeys. Get old clothes that free from any lump that will squeeze the back, then two peices of of 4ins with by 11ins length we called it pad saddle. The donkey wont have any pain. It is very good Yes.

Wow, for us we use donkeys on the scotch cart. We then put drums in the cart.we can go with the cart to the river or borehole to fetch water. Or else they can carry maize on their back to the grenary.

The first foster home I was in my early teens they had 3 donkeys. Jack, Jenny and Jill and my foster father used them for helping him plowing. I learned so much about farm life and such. It was a horrific time in my life that was with the help of that lovely family turned into a beautiful time. We used horses and many other farm animals for different living. The women in your home Joy are such strong and hard workers. I truly admire your culture ❤ Tom and Joy you truly are an AMAZING team and I can’t say it enough how much I appreciate and admire Tom for the way he embraces your culture and respect and wants to know about the littlest of things.

Wow this is so beautiful to watch... I am from Nigeria 🇳🇬 , although I live in one of the cities but I can totally relate because during most festive periods, we travel to the village to celebrate. My village is also very calm and quiet and a great place to go have a good vacation away from the hustle and bustle of the cities. We usually dig boreholes and connect the water through pipes to the house or we buy water from water trucks. I love Tom and the way he is eager to learn so much. Keep it up guys!

The Donkey shook her head in relief after the jugs were removed 😂😂 When I was growing up in Jamaica there were lots of carts (drays) drawn by donkeys or mules...it was the country farmers' transportation...carrying goods or people...they were allowed on the roads but it was a pain to encounter them if you were in a car cause they were going so slowly..taking their time clip clop..and you couldn't get to overtake them on the narrow roads....especially at night..they had oil lanterns on the sides...on those dark country roads....back then it was just laid back country life..🇯🇲😎

I remember those days in the village. I love a donkey ride. In my village in Jamaica they don’t have donkeys anymore. People build their own water tanks or they have drums where they keep water. The donkey knows to hold his head down while you lift the water off his body

Don't allow him to get hurt by any way, don't put any unbearable load on his back. Treat your animal, as if he was your child. Animals do have emotions, feelings, just as us humans.

I like how Tom loves the village. Another thing is that you people should put soft clothes( matandiko) at the back of the donkey before puting heavy loads like jerican with water just for the comfort of the donkey and to prevent the donkey from getting back injuries.

You can also add like cushions, just mixed clothes stuck together like pillow to put on their back before putting the barrels, that's what we did in the village when I was growing up 🤣🤣🤣and don't feel bad Tom some people treat them nicely and take care of them because they know their value just like Peter said, I can see Joy's ones are healthy and loved but there are those people who mistreat them, which is wrong and sad
