We black people were taken from Africa and our ancestors endured slavery , but we ended up as citizens and owners of some beautiful places . We the descendents of African slaves are fortunate to have islands like Jamaica , Barbados , Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago and many other beautiful islands as our own . As a matter of fact , many Africans are dreaming of coming to the caribbean .

Fun Fact! Bahamas & Jamaica's Head of State is the King of England, since they are not Republic countries. Trinidad & Tobago and Barbados are fully self governing countries (Republic Countries) and relinquished the English Monarchy.
@brian359rolle
@brian359rolle 7 ай бұрын
@@seygra20@seygra20 This is partially true; they have different styles of Government; the Bahamas and Jamaica are Democratic constitutional monarchies, and their head of state is represented by a Governor General who represents the King, while Trinidad and Barbados are Democratic Republics, and their head of state is represented by a President. Both countries are independent, and the British monarchy is a symbolic head. It in no way governs the Bahamas or Jamaica territory. So, to make it sound as if the King of England plays a role in governing these territories are false; they are just as independent and self-govern as Trinidad or Barbados. Now, Cayman and Turks and Caicos are different; they are not independent of Great Britain.
@Tejaye777
@Tejaye777 7 ай бұрын
@@seygra20 True!!!! For Caribbean countries T&T and Barbados are fully headed by their own head of state the Presidents. For CARICOM Barbados, Guyana and T&T are fully self Governing Republics and the UK down have any role in their governance.

What makes us fortunate having islands stolen from another people as our own? The Islands belong to the Indigenous people... nothing, not even slavery, can justify taking their land from them.

African Tigress, thanks for an informative video. I did not know that there was a UWI branch in the Bahamas, and they had free education at the university level. To be honest, I have never met anyone from the Bahamas in Canada. At one time, I was planning to live there, but I listened to people with their conflicting ideas. Those are the mistakes you make when you are young. It is best to follow your own dreams. It seems as if the men are the same on all the islands. Sweet talk and more sweet talk! I enjoyed the contrasting views in the video.

What does that really mean? If I can’t use one love among our people then what should I use? One hate? I am Jamaican and Bahamian I claim both countries. Is there a problem ? It appears you are one of those who hate Jamaicans . How dare you assume I am trying to use Bahamas to get to America ? And have no right to compliment or speak highly of the Bahamas. Would you say this to the white people who say they are Bahamian, ( I just met one last week with a British accent ) do you accuse the Cubans are using Bahamas as a passage? Or only Jamaicans.
