We can never go wrong telling our own stories by ourselves, lest strangers start feeding us lies about our own people. Kudos to the cast and crew, well done to Netflix. We have enough heroes and legends in Africa, we're tired of watching King Arthur and Robin Hood stories. Let Africa start telling the tales of African heroes!

As an Igbo man, I’m very proud of the direction Nollywood has taken in terms of enhanced quality, production and story telling. To hell with Hollywood’s perverse and degrading depiction of Africa. THIS is how African stories need to be told, by US and with dignity. Salute to my Yoruba family for this fine work 🫡 🇳🇬

Both the history of the Igbo people as well as the history of the Yoruba people have challenged my and many others preconceived, errornous notions about the entire continent of Africa. In the case of the Yoruba, skipping the bronze age and going right into the Iron Age is AFAIK exceptional in the history of material culture of humans, and in the case of the Igbo, the invention of a modern banking system *before* North Italian merchants did, who I was erroneously tought were the inventors of banking. And these are just two of many examples. Greetings from Germany. P.S.: while much of the beauty and prosaic marvel of the hundreds of different languages in Nigeria alone is lost on me, given that I only speak German and English, one thing I've noticed and loved how marvelous and prosaic the English spoken in Nigeria is. (Got to know a few Nigerians living here in Germany over the years) Who cares about 'the king's english' or 'received pronounciation' compared to that? IMO some the most beautiful, witty, prosaic use of English is found in Nigeria.

People have been watching Superman, Batman, and all other white superhero movies with no complaints. Once Africans are starting to tell our own stories and culture, then the some africans come with all sorts of nonsense. The people who complain about this movie won't complain about movies infiltrated with homosexual contents. What is wrong with us(African folks)? We have borrowed language, religion, culture, etc... Instead of encouraging and giving accolades to the promoters of our cultures, we want to shut them down.
